The Dangers of Self-Love

The Dangers of Self-Love

This article was originally published on Younus AlGohar’s Medium page. Learn more about self-love in the Messiah Herald: Save Society with EQ

Self-love will turn you into an animal. Divine love will make you a wonderful person.

Everybody has this natural admiration for oneself. It is natural, but there is a time and point when self-admiration goes to a new extreme. Then, it is so heightened and elevated that it becomes an illness.

When something is wrong with your physical organs, you detect that problem by virtue of spotting symptoms. However, not too many people pay attention on behavioural issues and cognitive issues. Spirituality has answers for all those problems.

Every form of love is intoxicating. Whether it is carnal love, monetary love, self-love or divine love, love is really addictive.

However, the most dangerous form of love is self-love. In self-love only, you harm and hurt others. You take their lives. You ruin their lives.

In divine love, in order to benefit humanity, you ruin your own life. You don’t hurt or harm anybody. If you see a hungry man, you deprive yourself of the food that is supposed to go in your stomach and give it to him. In order to help others, you give the breath you need to survive away to people. That is divine love.

Self-love is very easy and common. People don’t have to make efforts. They fall in love with themselves and they don’t even notice. There is a time when your spiritual faculties within you become blind to detect this very dangerous form of love.

An enlightened heart will never allow self-love to grow in it, because self-love is not just self-destructive — it is like a time bomb.

It will ruin friends and families. It will ruin countries. If you become a president and you suffer from the disease of self-love, you will ruin the country. If you are a powerful leader and you a sick man, and your sickness lies in self-love, maybe you will put the entire world at the brink of war.

Now is the time when we need to understand whether or not we are doing anything that might trigger self-admiration to the extreme or self-love. We have to be very careful. Self-love is unprofitable; it is only destructive.

Some ‘spiritualists’ underline the need for having self-love. They equal self-love with self-esteem. However, there is a very thin blue line between these two regimes.

Self-esteem is nowhere near self-admiration and self-love. Self-love is not healthy; it is not in the welfare of your spiritual being.

Self-love is very dangerous not just for yourself, but to those also who are around you.

#AskYounusAlGohar – Is The Religion of God a New Religion?

#AskYounusAlGohar – Is The Religion of God a New Religion?

The following is Younus AlGohar’s reply to a question posed by a viewer during his daily live speeches on AlRa TV. You can tune in and ask Younus AlGohar questions every day at 10:00 PM UK time on the AlRa TV YouTube channel.

The Religion of God means that it is God’s religion. If you think it is a new religion, it must mean that God is also new. However, God is not new. It is the same God who sent Adam, Moses, Abraham, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammad.

Moses was influenced by The Religion of God and created a religion for mankind; Jesus was influenced by The Religion of God and created a religion for mankind. How can you claim that The Religion of God is a new religion?

The Religion of God and the Koran

It is written in the Koran, ‘O’ Prophet Mohammad, a day will come when you will see big chunks of human beings entering into The Religion of God.’ [Koran 110:2]

At another point, it says: ‘O’ Prophet, when The Religion of God is established in the world, then turn your face towards it because it is the religion of the future. All other religions will be wiped out but the majority of human beings are unaware of this.’ [Koran 30:30]

The majority of people don’t know that The Religion of God has to be established; Muslims think that Islam has been established and that’s the end of the story. If somebody is under the impression that Islam is the last religion and it will remain forever, they should know that Islam is not The Religion of God; it was established by Prophet Mohammad. According to the Koran, The Religion of God is greater than Islam.

The Koran instructed Prophet Mohammad to turn his face towards The Religion of God because it would be the religion of the future. The Koran was revealed when Islam had already been established. So Islam could not be The Religion of God that the Koran referred to.

The problem with clerics of Islam is that when they are proven wrong, they say, ‘That is not what that particular verse of the Koran actually means.’ Why don’t they use their common sense? Otherwise, they should say that Islam will be established in the future and that’s when Prophet Mohammad will turn his face towards it.

Do you think that Prophet Mohammad spent 23 years propagating Islam and even then, he didn’t manage to establish the religion? Do you think Prophet Mohammad’s face wasn’t already towards Islam when Koran 30:30 was revealed? That is like saying that the religion of Islam did not exist these verses of the Koran were revealed and that it would be made in the future. How ridiculous!

The clerics can confuse the common Muslims, but they cannot make a fool out of a learned man. I have read the Koran and different interpretations. My message to clerics is to stop misguiding the Muslim nation. Do not say ridiculous things which can cause Muslims to be further divided.

#AskYounusAlGohar – What is the Purpose of Fasting?

#AskYounusAlGohar – What is the Purpose of Fasting?

#AskYounusAlGohar – What is the Purpose of Fasting?

Fasting is a struggle to purify your Carnal Self. To refrain from eating is just one aspect of fasting.

The purpose of fasting is to reduce the intake of Negative Energy (Naar) and increase the intake of Divine Energy (Noor).

Negative Energy enters your body at all times while you breathe. However when we eat, we obtain a lot [more] Negative Energy. So in a fast, you stop eating for 15-16 hours to stop the Carnal Self from obtaining its diet of Negative Energy. When a person gets ill, he stops eating; but in order to get well, you still have to take medicine. During a fast, different types of worship such as Taraweeh and Salat are all ways to increase Divine Energy in you.

Fasting was prescribed to Christians also. It was something which had been made a religious obligation upon many nations before Islam. You are trying to weaken your Carnal Self, which is the source of all evil in your body. However, keeping yourself away from consumption of food is just one very tiny element of inner purification.

During fasting, you refrain from consumption of all foods, but at the same time, you must be able to replace that Negative Energy with Divine Energy so that your Carnal Self becomes purified.

Therefore to practise fasting effectively, one has to be enlightened in the heart. One’s heart must be articulated with God’s name; one’s heart must have learnt the art of producing Divine Energy.

If your heart is still not open and you are fasting, the job is only half done. Since the job is only half done, it is not going to benefit you in any way.

You will feel like you’ve taken some depression tablets when you fast. You’ll feel like you have calmed down. That is all you will get by the half job. If you continue to practise fasting without an enlightened heart, it is not going to benefit you at all.

As a result, you can see we are in the holy month of Ramadan. However, those ‘Muslims’ especially who do not get tired proclaiming that they are the purest of all Muslims – instead of purifying themselves, they are busy in human slaughter. They’re carrying out an organised butchery of mankind. Had their hearts and thought processes been purified; had their inner selves been purged, they would not even want to harm a tiny insect.

I am explaining the spiritual mechanism of fasting. Fasting in one sentence is to cut down on the intake of Negative Energy and increase the intake of Divine Energy. This is only possible when your heart is enlightened and has learned the art of producing Divine Energy.

Those who take every aspect of the religion as a ritual don’t dig beyond that ritualistic understanding. They are just wasting their time. Their practice of any ritual is futile – a complete waste. You can see the results. There are over a billion Muslims all over the world. But to be honest with you, even with the education they have, practically speaking, they are the farthest from any moral or religious values. They are those who don’t even know what ethical values are. Their religiosity is based on blindfoldedly practised rituals.

These rituals will only benefit you when you have learnt to effectively receive the spiritual benefits of that practice. Therefore any religious practice today in the absence of spirituality is a complete waste of time and energy. The result is null and void. Simple as that.

#AskYounusAlGohar – How Do Inanimate Objects Communicate?

#AskYounusAlGohar – How Do Inanimate Objects Communicate?

The following is a transcript of Younus AlGohar’s reply to a viewer on YouTube live.

It is through the Subtlety of Akhfah (Arcane) that human beings can speak and through the Subtlety of Ana that they can see, but when the body dies the subtleties are wasted in the grave. You will not be granted new subtleties in paradise because the subtleties were given to human beings in the world as a test. God wanted to see if you would utilise these subtleties. This is a method but do not think this method is definite because the trees and animals don’t possess the Subtlety of Akhfah, however, God is Absolute Power and he can make any creature – animate or inanimate – do as he pleases.

When the human soul comes into the world and enters the body, it is in a dormant state. But when it goes back it is not in a dormant state. After spending time in this world, the soul will not be given a small body in paradise. The bodies there will be substantial and the same soul will be placed inside the new body, in accordance with its accountability. Those new bodies will never burn nor perish.

The reason for the ageing process in the world is resistance;  then everything we eat is foreign to us because we were made from the clay in heaven. There is a lot of filth, which causes wear and tear on the body. However, there is no such thing in paradise. Everything there is in liquid form, even apples don’t have any texture. There are no solid things; hence, the bodies don’t go through exertion.

You might have heard stories that somebody who never spoke English before fell asleep one night and woke up speaking in English or somebody who lived in England all their life suddenly woke up with an American accent – these things do happen. God does show his Divine Power from time to time. The mechanism of speaking in the world is different to the mechanism in paradise; do not apply the rules of this world to the rules of paradise.

God said: I have Absolute Power over everything.  Koran [5:120]

This is the reason why there are incidents whereby stones and animals speak. Prophet Mohammad’s staff used to converse with him; animals used to converse with him. However, this method of communication is different.

If you lived in the era of Prophet Mohammad, you might think the animals conversed with him in the Arabic language and you’d be able to hear the conversation. But the animals, sticks and stones did not converse in this manner; whatever they wanted to say would come onto the heart of Prophet Mohammad.

I used to think the same but once I was sitting on a sofa somewhere and all of the sudden my hands and feet began to itch. I had the same thought echoing in my mind over and over again that somebody has done something wrong on this sofa. I was disturbed; I didn’t know why this thought was echoing in my mind. I was perplexed. Then, after a few years, I was some place else, sitting on a bus and another thought began echoing in my mind repeatedly that somebody was stabbed here. When this started happening frequently, I became concerned and I asked His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi what was happening to me.

HDE Gohar Shahi explained, ‘These inanimate objects are conversing with you but you think they are just your thoughts. These things are actually speaking to you.’

Allama Iqbal said: If God granted you the friendship of nature; you’d be able to converse with the flowers.

This does not mean that you will be able to stand before a tree and ask it to tell you a story and you will hear the tree replying. Whenever inanimate objects converse with you, it will come onto your heart.

In order to be a verified recipient of this type of communication, you must be a Qalb-e-Shaheed (The Witnessing Heart). Otherwise, you may think things are communicating with you, but really they are your own thoughts.

When these communications come onto the Qalb-e-Shaheed, if they are evil thoughts they will be expelled, and if they are divine thoughts the production of Divine Light will increase. However, if the thoughts are neither expelled nor increase the Divine Light it simply means it is the communication from inanimate objects. If a tree is conversing with you, the script coming onto your heart will not be divine, would it? It will just be a thought. There will be no Divine Light in it because inanimate objects do not possess Divine light.

Now, the image of His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi on the Moon can also communicate with people and the method of communication is the same: you ask your question in your heart and the answer will also be revealed onto your heart. This is how this method of communication is carried out.

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 6: Pattern of Human Behaviour

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 6: Pattern of Human Behaviour

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 6: Pattern of Human Behaviour

Editor’s note: the following is the sixth lesson in Younus AlGohar’s course on Self-Awareness, Level 2: Emotional Intelligence.

For better background information, read Self-Awareness, Level 1, in the Messiah Herald.

Read Self-Awareness, Level 2, Lesson 5 here

Step 1 – Controlling Emotions

The objective of studying emotional intelligence is to obtain the ability to acquire control over the emotions.

Sometimes, the pain we feel is so much that we are emotionally overwhelmed. Sometimes we are able to control our overwhelming emotions. Other times, we give into the flow and that is when we suffer the most. In such a situation, we should not let go of ourselves; we should be able to control our emotions.

Perhaps this is what patience is. Some people mix patience with forbearance, but the ability to control your emotions is patience. There is a significant difference between patience and forbearance. Forbearance is for physical pain and suffering, whereas patience is to do with the ability to control your emotions – to put your foot down and not let go of yourself.

Controlling emotions is very close in meaning to a Sufi term known as ‘Zarf’, which means great endurance.

Endurance is like durability.  For example, there are different kinds of suitcases on the market: Atelier, American Tourister, Samsonite, Delsey, Tommy, Rivera and Rimowa. They are made with different fibres, materials and matter. The most durable material will be sold at the most expensive price. How do we assess the durability? Durability is assessed by applying pressure and power to see how much the material can endure. Some materials that they make suitcases with will break easily while some others are really durable.

If it is a material and it is not easy to break, it is called durability. If it is a human being who can take any amount of pressure, doesn’t crack under pressure and survives, that is called endurance. Durability and endurance are brother and sister, so to speak.

Are Your Prayers Being Answered?

Emotions, when they are overwhelmingly excessive, behave like alcohol.

Some people are so affected by their emotions that if you check their pulse and blood pressure when they are emotionally charged up, the reading will be the same as if they were drunk. Any news – whether it is extremely good or extremely bad – will run shockwaves through their bodies.

Especially in Pakistan, when people go to apply for a visa to a western country, their hearts run like horses. Even if they don’t believe in God, at that moment in time God is very much in demand; he serves as an agent. To some people, the religious stuff works miracles. This is all cogitation. Whether or not God helps you, you have this imagination to hold onto when you believe in God.

We human beings are so ‘good’, we pray to God when we are in adversity. We call upon God when in need. There is a momentary soothing effect when you pray to God, even though you know, deep down in your heart, that God isn’t going to answer. It is just a mind game.

A prayer has a very soothing effect. This is why intelligent people suffer more because they don’t believe in God.

How many people are religious? The majority of people who practise a religion are not from well-to-do families and not opulent. They are those who have to go to the worship places to pray to God for a loaf of bread. Obviously, they will get a loaf of bread from here or there. Someone will come and even if he doesn’t believe in God, he will feel pity for them and give them a loaf of bread. Then the [religious man] will say, ‘Oh look, God heard my prayers. I was hungry; somebody came and fed me.’

This is the pattern of our behaviour. You will never appreciate the efforts of the person who helped you, but thankfulness from you will go to God. Human beings will do us a favour but we will never appreciate their favour. Instead of saying ‘Thank you,’ to the people who help us, we will say, ‘God, you have been so nice to me,’ and God does not know a thing about what is going on.

These religious people, at the time of adversity, find their solace in prayers and worship. However, when they are happy, how will they control their emotions now? When religious people are happy, they forget God. They only remember him at the time of need.

At the time of adversity, you can control your emotions through prayer, meditation, yoga and various different things. However, some people take the world by storm when they are happy. The way they behave when they’re extraordinarily happy, it is like they’re drunk. They lose their intelligence.

Step 2- Making Use of Emotions

Emotional intelligence is the ability to control and make use of your emotions. Controlling emotions is understandable, but what is making use of emotions?

When some people are emotionally charged up, you can convince them to give you donations. When they are not emotionally charged up, you tell them a thousand stories related to God, but they will never give you any donations. It is really bad to take advantage of somebody’s emotional state, however, as long as you are not ripping their pockets off and convincing them to contribute to a good cause, it is okay. When they are emotionally charged up, their emotions will make them do it. This is perhaps where the proverb comes from, ‘strike while the iron is still hot.’

In the moment when somebody is emotionally charged up and you give him His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi’s message of love, those emotions will help him understand your mission and message.

When I was in Pakistan, I had a friend and I would tell him about HDE Gohar Shahi every day. He would always turn a deaf ear on me. But then one day, when his father died, we went to the graveyard for the burial. He buried his father and we were sitting there. He was telling me, ‘Everyone has to die one day.’ Then, I told him about HDE Gohar Shahi. I was really shocked: he was listening to me very carefully. I thought he was just winding me up and maybe in another minute he would stand up and say, ‘Look, I made a fool out of you.’ But no, we spent a good one hour there. He was crying and telling me, ‘You’re right.’ Then we went to HDE Gohar Shahi and he was granted Opening of the Spiritual Heart.

I always wondered why he never understood the message before, but after his father died, it was like he was waiting for it. The difference was, when his father died and he was in the graveyard, he was overwhelmed with emotions. You need to see which emotion goes with what message.

God, somehow or other, is attached with suffering, starvation and a sense of deprivation. When you are in the spiritual and emotional vicinity of pain and suffering, then comes the message of God. People are looking for solace and comfort. Nothing is more comforting than something that can secure your future, especially if you are standing in a graveyard.

Now at this stage, controlling your emotions is Step 1. Step 2 is the ability to make use of those emotions. Some people who are evil will obviously make a bad use of your emotions.

You have to guard your emotions like you guard your virginity. Anybody can come and tell you a story; you shouldn’t expose your emotions to people.

You cannot take advantage of somebody’s emotions. You only use it for a good purpose. Making use of emotions is only allowed for the other person’s goodness, not your own goodness. But cunning people do the opposite. When they see somebody is emotional, they will come and sell them a story, fill their own pockets and run away. This is why emotional intelligence is very important in life.

We have discussed emotional intelligence and also the awareness of emotional intelligence so that If somebody is in an emotional state, we can respect their emotions and then how to help them control their emotions.

Some people are very vulnerable and when they are overwhelmed with emotions, they cannot control their emotions. But what are friends for? If you have a friend who is going through such an emotional crisis phase in his life, it is your moral obligation to go and fix his emotional problems and help him control his emotions. Maybe they don’t know how to control their emotions; they may get carried away in those emotions and cause great harm. If they cannot control their emotions, as a friend, you should be volunteering yourself in controlling their emotions and making sure nobody makes use of their emotions.

When you are angry, in the heat of the moment, you say silly things that you don’t mean. Similarly, when you are in an emotional state, the world looks different, everything looks different. In normal life, you will see that there are many hurdles but when you are emotionally charged up, you will see no boundaries. You think you can do anything.

Intelligence does not work when you are emotionally charged up. I personally believe that you have to be more emotionally intelligent than this mental intelligence. Emotions are so powerful; they supersede all your intellect. Emotions can screw up your intellect any time and make your head empty of intellect.

If you have £100 and you see people are starving and suffering, you’ll give it all away in an emotional state. When you come back home, you will only blame yourself. You will say, ‘Why did I do that?’ If you do this in spirituality, it is not allowed. What is not allowed in spirituality? That you were emotionally overwhelmed and saw somebody starving and in need, you gave him or her all your money and when you came home, you now regret it.

It is not allowed in spirituality to do a good thing and regret it later on.

You should measure your goodness and charity and always keep emotional and intellectual intelligence intact.

‘I think I should give him £20, and then I will be left with £30. I can easily manage one week with £30.’ Now you will not regret it. But if you donate £100 and you only had £100, then that was a one-off charity. You will never do that charity again in your life.

Sometimes, emotions can really misguide you. Emotions should be intact with intellectualism. If the intellect is separated from emotions, you are in trouble.

My father used to say, ‘Do not be too sweet or people will swallow you. Do not be too bitter or people will spit you out [Urdu Proverb].’ We have to stay in the middle.

Every human being should be emotionally intelligent and you will only do certain things when you are emotionally intelligent.

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 5: Where Your Moral Values Come From
14th May 2017|Articles

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 5: Where Your Moral Values Come From

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 5: Where Your Moral Values Come From

Editor’s note: the following is the fifth lesson in Younus AlGohar’s course on Self-Awareness, Level 2: Emotional Intelligence.

For better background information, read Self-Awareness, Level 1, in the Messiah Herald.

Read Self-Awareness, Level 2, Lesson 4 here.

How Emotional Intelligence Affects Every Aspect of Life

When a singer is singing a sad song, he has to feel the pain the words delivered in the song. Happy or humourous songs also have to be sung with emotions; they call it the feeling. In a similar way, when we listen to the news like Sky News, BBC News, CNN etc., we see emotions are involved in the way the newscaster delivers the news. If the news is sad, we see emotions of sadness and sorrow emanating from his face and if it’s good news, he will smile. Now, a doctor’s job is really difficult because every patient that comes to see him brings bad news. The doctor has to be in the same mood, or at least the same emotional state (even if it is fake, he has to show that emotionally he is aware of the situation), and this is emotional intelligence.

What are moral etiquettes? If somebody tells us, ‘my mother died five years ago’, in that moment if we skip saying ‘I am really sorry’, people will be really offended. We need to be aware of these things and have some moral etiquettes, some emotional intelligence and its awareness.

Emotions play a pivotal role in our life. For example, if you see a child who needs milk but his/her parents are unable to provide milk, it will remind you of your own child. When you think about your own child, your emotions will be charged up. In that emotional state, you start to help the child that doesn’t belong to you.

We’re only concerned about ourselves. This should not be the case with a spiritual person. We must observe all spiritual, social and moral etiquettes, so that we do not cause any harm, physical or emotional, to any individual in this world. If somebody looks a bit sad or emotionally down, you should respect his emotional state. Change the way you speak to him every day, be a little more polite with him. This is emotional intelligence.

Emotional Intelligence Crisis

Emotions push you to do good things, however, at the same time, these emotions can backfire.

For example, some Muslims blew up a bomb and many people died. Later on, a Muslim guy is seen showing his anger to somebody in a neighbourhood, somebody watching him may be reminded of the Muslim terrorists, and his emotions will reach their peak. Maybe in that emotional state, that man [watching] can cause any amount of harm to that Muslim guy who is shouting and abusing others. This is how people become outrageous sometimes. Backlashes and hate crimes are the prime examples.

A Kurdish boy was beaten up badly by eight people. He didn’t do anything wrong, he was just Muslim but this happened because so many Muslim terrorists are causing a lot of distress and have become a threat to the national security of many countries of the world. This has become a very sensitive matter and it can happen anytime, anywhere and it is all to do with emotions.

Not every Muslim is a terrorist. Sikhs – because they grow beards and wear turbans like Muslims – are easily recognisable to Muslims; they can identify them as Sikhs because their turban is different and by the length of their beard, etc. But after 9/11 in Arizona, the Americans who were naive to Islam or Sikhism, when they spotted somebody with a turban and a big beard, they thought the Sikh man was Muslim and killed him. This is an emotional intelligence crisis.

To help stop terrorism, it is not just about deradicalisation, you also have to take care of the emotional intelligence of people so that people do not become outrageous and are able to control their own emotions.

Moral and Societal Values

One important thing in the study of emotional intelligence is moral values and ethical codes.

Morality in this world has different shapes, forms and sources. Some people find moral values from their society. In our society, certain things are allowed and some things are not allowed. For example, in a British town, the societal values will definitely differ from a Pakistani town.

Sometimes the society is deeply and vehemently affected by the religion of the land and its code of conduct; its ethical code and moral values come from the religion. In Pakistan, a woman and a man cannot have a sexual relationship without marriage but in a British town, with consent, adults can enter into a sexual relationship and can even live together. Society here will allow it because it is not against the moral values of British society.

Moral values differ from society to society, because each society has a different source for its moral values. However, sometimes your moral values come neither from any religion nor the society. Sometimes you are the boss and make your own rules. I have heard people saying, ‘In my family, nobody can do this. This is against our family law and tradition.’  Therefore, there is not just one single source of morality.

In order to have precise understanding and awareness of emotional intelligence, we need to first see what moral values we have adopted. Only after determining the source of our moral values can we detect the awareness of emotional intelligence.

You need to find the source. What is it that dictates your emotions? What is it that brings rage and fury in your emotional state? It is your belief system.

Those who are religious, are very difficult and it is very difficult for them to be emotionally intelligent. They are swimming in the ocean of their religion; their mind is messed up. It’s not possible for somebody to be religious and rational at the same time. Religions will always make you irrational.

For example, Muslims in Luton, are carrying banners and saying, ‘we will impose Sharia.’ They’re looking at white women and saying, ‘your dress is not according to Islam.’ She doesn’t practise Islam! Why are you telling her? It is your religion, why are you imposing your religion on others? It simply means your mind is messed up. It is not rationality, is it? But this is the reality. Does a Christian have the same rights in a Muslim country as Muslims have in the west? Muslims are allowed to build their mosques here. Can a Christian man go to Saudi Arabia and do whatever he wants to do according to his religion?

Look at how good this secular system is! You know why they do it? It’s because their mind is not messed up. If people in the west were also very religious, practising Christians, they would behave the same way. But because they are non-practising Christians, their mind is not messed up by the religion hence they behave like human beings. They have generosity, rationality and their own moral codes. Their moral code is: whatever religion somebody practises, they should have the fundamental necessities of life.

Why should we follow a religion when a religion is taking away humanity from human beings?  Why do we have this fanatic ideology uprising? Why do we have this extremism spreading like fire? Why is hatred prevailing? Because there is a conflict in morality. The standards you may have, the other person does not have the same standards of moral values.

Your emotional intelligence is directly linked to moral values. Unfortunately, moral values in different societies have different sources therefore what may be a moral act according to you may not be moral to somebody else.

When we talk about morality, our morality is not universal. Our morality is more regional than global. We all have different standards of morality.

Now according to some form of morality, you only hide your private parts. If you are hiding the nipples, your morality is perfect. In most of the secular, moral cultures, women are not allowed to show their nipples, it would be too obscene and immoral. According to liberal Muslims, women can show half their chest. They have accepted it and it has become part of their moral values. Moral values are changing according to secular culture. According to religious culture, moral values are frozen; they have become stagnant. Even the law of the land can shape your moral values. When you are a religious person and your moral values come from religion you do not recognise any other form of morality, which obviously means intolerance is at its peak. You cannot coexist with others in the same society.

Universal morality has to do with tolerance. What you like to do, you should be allowed to do. What others like to do, you shouldn’t be bothered about it.

What is a sin? There are two forms of sins according to a religion. A sin which goes against humanity, you hurt and harm humanity and the other sin which goes against you, which hurts and harms you. Those that hurt and harm you are of less implication. A sin that involves others, causes pain, hurt and harm to others, that is severity. That is to be stopped.

Do not try to impose your beliefs on others. Let everybody live their life the way they want to live it.

Emotional Intelligence and God

When God has emotional intelligence, then why don’t  people who follow a religion have it?

The reason is God doesn’t follow the same religion. God’s religion is different. His religion is love. The problem is, he only practises his religion with those that practise his religion: The religion of love.

These religions that have been established by prophets and messengers, the standard of morality these religions render to its followers very much depends on the society at the time these religions were established. What was the standard of religious morality in those times when Prophet Mohammad came to the peninsula of Arab? What was the standard of morality at the time when Jesus came to Jerusalem? You will see a slight improvement in the standard of morality after the religion introduced its moral values. If you want to compare the standards of morality now with the standards back then, you will fall back. The standard of morality in those days was really strict. This was about the religion and followers of the religions.

However in all eras, in all ages, whoever was introduced to the knowledge of spirituality, the knowledge of eminence, their emotional intelligence equalled the intelligence of God. They didn’t pick up their moral values from the religion, they picked it up from spirituality. The standard of spiritual values is vast. They embrace and forgive anyone. Most of the irregular things in this world according to moral values are okay for Sufis. No damage is done. You can do what you want to do as long as you don’t hurt others.

This should be the case with everybody today. Allow everybody to do what they want to do. There is a voice within everybody that guides them and tells them not to do wrong, no matter what religion they practise. Even atheists who don’t practise any religion or believe in God, do not want to sleep with their sisters or mothers. Why don’t they do it?  Because these are basic principles and natural human instincts.

Let our moral values derive from the basic principles of humanity.

Imam Mehdi Will Not Impose Islam Through Bloodshed

Imam Mehdi Will Not Impose Islam Through Bloodshed

The following is the English transcript of Younus AlGohar’s lecture

Those who say, ‘Imam Mehdi will kill non-Muslims,’ are ignorant of the truth and the Koran.

It is a common misperception in Muslim circles that Imam Mehdi will impose Islam on the entire world. The concept of Imam Mehdi was given to Muslims through celestial scriptures, from God. Similarly, the concept of the Messiah in Judaism is also from celestial scriptures. If the Jews think the Messiah will impose Judaism and the Christians think Jesus shall impose Christianity, while Muslims think Imam Mehdi shall impose Islam; this causes a lot of confusion.

God has given the concept of an Awaited One in all celestial scriptures and if a Muslim thinks only Islam’s concept is correct, that person is not a true Muslim. Muslims are required by their religion to believe in all prophets, messengers and the four celestial scriptures.

Now the concept of Imam Mehdi is from God and the concept of the Messiah is also from God, therefore how is it possible that God will send Imam Mehdi to spread Islam and the Messiah to spread Judaism all over the world? Does God have a plan to wreak havoc and cause bloodshed? It just doesn’t make any sense.

How can this concept exist in a Muslim’s mind that Islam will spread over the entire world when it is for Islam that Prophet Mohammad said,

‘Nothing would be left in the Koran for except customary recitation and nothing will be left in Islam for except its name.’

When the Muslims conquered Mecca, it was known as the Golden Age of Islam. The Muslims had their own Islamic Sultanate but even in that era, Islam was confined to a piece of land, it had not spread all over the world. Later on, the Caliphs invaded countries and enforced Islam. However, I am completely against the act of invading and attacking another country in order to enforce your religion upon them. This is wrong. It is in direct violation of what the Koran says,

 ‘La iqra fiddeen’ [2:256]

This is often translated by clerics as: there is no compulsion in the religion. However, this is a misinterpretation. It actually means: do not do anything in the religion that makes you feel disgusted. How can you not feel disgusted, killing a 6-month old baby just because his parents did not accept Islam? This is against the principles of Islam and the Koran.

A Muslim would say that the era of Prophet Mohammad was the best and yet we know that even in the era of Prophet Mohammad the Islamic flag did not reign over the entire world.

The Commencement of Eminence

Imam Mehdi shall be greater in eminence and possess more knowledge than Adam Safi Allah; how can any Muslim attribute violence and bloodshed to Imam Mehdi?

The most important point to note is that when God was creating Adam Safi Allah, the angels objected. The angels suspected that he would again cause mischief and bloodshed. They said to God, ‘Are we not enough to glorify you and sing your praise?’ God’s argument in response was that this time he was going to give Adam the Knowledge of Eminence. [Koran 2:30]

Those sects in Islam who claim that Imam Mehdi will use the power of his sword to impose Islam on the entire world, I have a question for them: has Islam not always been subjected to bloodshed?

In order to eliminate bloodshed from the nature of man, God granted Adam the Knowledge of Eminence; it simply means Muslims do not know what the Knowledge of Eminence really is nor do they understand what is written in the Koran. How can it be that Imam Mehdi will possess this Knowledge of Eminence, which was given to eliminate bloodshed and at the same time he will cause bloodshed and kill all who do not accept Islam? How can good and evil coexist together?

Adam Safi Allah was given the minimum knowledge of how to generate divine light from the name of God. Imam Mehdi will not only possess the knowledge that was given to Adam, He will also possess and dispense the knowledge of how to obtain enlightenment from the sub-spirits of God (Jussa Taufeeq-e-Illahi/Tifle Noorie) and He will even dispense the knowledge with the help of which one will be able to see God (Deedar-e-Illahi) and the method by which one can come under the theophanies of God.

God has invested all his special powers and authority within Imam un Mubeen [Koran 36:12].

Imam un Mubeen (The Elusive Imam) means the one who does not have to be searched for; His grandeur and majesty is such that it speaks for itself. People will be humbled before him and compelled to believe that only He can be the Imam un Mubeen. Those who still maintain to reject Him, despite seeing all the signs, are those whose eyes are blind and heart is blind.

There are 27 Haroof-e-Mukatiyat (The Disjointed Letters). All prophets and messengers together only brought down the knowledge of 2 letters and Imam Mehdi shall bring down the remaining 25. How much knowledge that must be! Adam’s eminent knowledge was merely a pinch of knowledge compared to the knowledge Imam Mehdi shall dispense. Imam Mehdi is dispensing the secretive knowledge of God (Ilm-e-Ladduni).

Those who think Imam Mehdi shall pick up the sword are not only blasphemers of Imam Mehdi; they are blaspheming and rejecting the Koran, Prophet Mohammad and God. Can any cleric legitimately say that according to Islam, one who is involved in bloodshed will go to heaven? Only those are involved in bloodshed who do not possess the Knowledge of Eminence. In other words, one who is involved in bloodshed in the name of God/religion is trying to prove God wrong. Those who have obtained this Knowledge of Eminence only spread peace, love and connect people with God.

Prophet Mohammad did participate in wars, however, not a single infidel died from his sword. In those days, the Arab mentality was such that the weapon was seen as a man’s power. According to the mentality of the people at the time, had Prophet Mohammad not held a sword, they would have seen him as a coward. However, Prophet Mohammad never killed anyone.

God sent Prophet Mohammad down as a mercy upon all mankind. [Koran 21:107]

Prophet Mohammad even said, ‘If I had used a sword, would all my teeth have broken?’ When the infidels in Ta’if sent mad dogs after the Prophet and his shoes were full of blood, Gabriel asked, ‘Shall I join the two mountains so that they may be destroyed?’ Prophet Mohammad said, ‘No, I have not come to harm anyone; I have come as a blessing for all.’

If God gave Adam the Knowledge of Eminence to eliminate bloodshed, he must have given Prophet Mohammad something even greater; so that neither Prophet Mohammad nor those who were in the physical and spiritual company of Prophet Mohammad would have the urge to cause bloodshed.

All religions allow one to hold a weapon in self-defence, provided you are being attacked by the enemy. However, there is no religion that allows you to use a weapon to enforce your religion upon others. Therefore, having this conjecture for Imam Mehdi is utterly blasphemous.

Imam Mehdi will not kill any Christian or Jew. The message of Imam Mehdi is love and the knowledge Imam Mehdi is dispensing is far greater than the Knowledge of Eminence granted to Adam Safi Allah.

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 4: Optimising Your IQ

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 4: Optimising Your IQ

Self-Awareness Level 2, Lesson 4: Optimising Your IQ

Editor’s note: the following is the fourth lesson in Younus AlGohar’s course on Self-Awareness, Level 2: Emotional Intelligence.

For better background information, read Self-Awareness, Level 1, in the Messiah Herald.

Read Self-Awareness, Level 2, Lesson 3 here.

How many human beings out of millions of people out there want to study themselves, want to study how emotions value themselves in our life; how emotionally do we go wrong and how our own emotions play with us and our mind? Due to the fact that we don’t have enough knowledge of our own self [and others around us], we never get to know our own emotions and feelings, the right conduct that we must carry; our demeanour, boundaries, our liberties and then liberties and boundaries of others. We take it for granted.

Our life is messed up because don’t know anything about ourselves. We don’t know how emotions work. We don’t know how emotionally we are charged up, and sometimes feeling very lowly emotionally. The discerning experts on this subject lack a lot in what they describe as emotional intelligence. The description of emotional intelligence that I put forward in front of you is not based on what people study in the universities. My discourses on these subjects come from a divine source: His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi.

Emotions are like untamed vibes or they are waves of the ocean. Emotions move our entire being from one point to another. We are just going with the flow. With the ups and downs of emotions. We have no control. Although we say to ourselves ‘I am a very strong man’, but our strength is only deceptive. We are just fooling ourselves.

Emotional Complexes

When emotions hit you, no matter how strong you are, you will cry like a baby. You do not want to get entrapped in any of the emotional complexes.

There are mainly two complexes: a complex of being superior and a complex of being inferior.

Now the question is why do some people suffer from a superiority complex and others from an inferiority complex? Psychology doesn’t have the answer to this. But those who have a very strong ego, more often, they are the ones who get entrapped by the complex of superiority.

We are going to see how our emotions shape up to form a complex. A complex is a set of more than one thing. Our emotions: feelings of joy when we achieve something, feelings of sorrow and sadness when we fail. Some people when they fail, they don’t simply have feelings of sorrow; they have this strange feeling of rejection. If they fail again, the emotional trauma that they go through doubles the pain and sorrow. When they fail for the third time, all the pain, all the sadness, sorrow and the feelings of rejection get muddled up and form a complex. This complex, oftentimes, is duly aided by depression.

Those who suffer from superiority complex – don’t think they are always happy, they’re not happy. Their superiority depends on phraseology only. They are just chatterboxes. When they speak they’ll say they’re better than you, but inside they know they’re messed up.

His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi said, ‘Neither superiority complex is good for you nor inferiority complex is good for you.’

Then what should you do? HDE enquires us to be as we are. When we do good, say thank you. When we do bad; sorry, I won’t repeat the mistake. This is the reality.

Emotional complexes, as I assume, are fantasies. We are just thinking. Sometimes you are good, but you think you are bad. You know why you are bad? Because you are declaring yourself bad without even calculating your bad things. You assume you are bad and you enforce it upon you.

Optimising Intelligence

God has given everybody equal intelligence.

I have seen the movie ‘Lucy’ – Nobody’s brain works more than 15%-20%. If your brain starts to work 25% you will leave all the scientists behind. But they do not know how to increase the ability of the brain to its optimum. [In the movie] they use a special green liquid which releases into the womb of the mother when the baby is growing inside the stomach called CPH4, if that substance is inserted into your body it will multiply the cells in the brain. Maybe that will work 25%. If your brain works more than 20%, you can control everything with your mind.

When I was in school I learnt hypnotism. What you need to do is either absorb the blue light in the candle or look at the sun without blinking for five minutes, then gradually increase the time, the duration. I used to look at the sun without blinking for at least two hours. After that, if I would concentrate on a glass, I would break it. If I concentrate on your brain, I can make you do anything. This is when your brain is working in small digits in comparison to others. If your brain works 20%, you will become a saint of God. So much power is given to you!

Why is the brain not working at its optimum? Because there are three layers on the soul of the brain, the Subtlety of Ana. If your Ana is enlightened and you have seen God your brain works at 100%. [Those who reach this stage] have to control [themselves] by doing stupid things. They know things but it is difficult for them to behave like a normal person. While they try to behave like a normal person they always make mistakes and people think they are stupid.

So, do not think you are bad. Do not think you are lower than anybody. God has given all of you the same optimum in everything you have been given, for except your access to him.

Access to God depends on how much nearness he wants to grant you. You cannot be nearer to God more than God desires you to be. It is all up to him. However, as long as the ability of your physical organs is concerned, you are all equal. All you need to do is charge up or awaken those extra senses that you have been granted by God.

The complex that you are inferior or superior to somebody is just a mind game. It comes from the society. It comes from the classes of society. There are systems of classes in different countries. Here, we have social classes. For example, somebody from a working class works at McDonald’s, we can understand he doesn’t have enough resources to go to university and acquire higher education, therefore his level of understanding of life is lower than those who have been granted a prestigious lifestyle. They have been less fortunate in relation to having access to an abundance of money and opportunities to them.

These divisions and classes are the results of inabilities and incapacities; sometimes mental incapacity and most of the time financial incapacity. But then, [you are only using] 20% of your brain. No human being on earth can cross over 20% usage of the brain. After 20% there is a layer placed by God.

However, once you have seen God, that layer is removed. Then, forget about spirituality, if you only use your brain you can control the entire world. Honestly.

Before you reach that level in spirituality where your brain has extended its capacity to 100% – reaches its optimum – God wants to churn you. [He wants you] to go through the process of self-denial so that, in the end, when you discover this divine treasure, you don’t own it. You simply say, ‘This is with the blessings of the Lord. I am a piece of shit.’ You go through this divinely imposed cycle of negation and self-denial. God wants to make sure that there is nothing left of you in you when this treasure is finally opened up. This is why when people have this ability, they sit there and look stupid. You suspect them [and think] had he had this much power, he wouldn’t be sitting here stupidly.

For example, you are starving; no food to eat, no place to go to, you can’t even buy a loaf of bread and you say,’ I have billions of dollars in my pocket’. We will not believe you. Why?  Our intellect has only seen a few patterns of emotions. [We will think] if he had the money why would he be starving? These are the patterns of emotions life shows us.

Divine Light

What is light? Light consists of photons. There is a body of photons and there is a soul of photons. The body of photons is what we see and the soul of photons is divine energy that goes in the heart. When the divine energy reaches the heart; the moment it is completely energised there is a big bang, like your skull has been cracked open. That is the sound of the eruption of energy, not the skull. Then, the third eye opens up.

After this, you will have two windows in front of your eyes: the exterior and interior of people. What they say and what they have in their heart; you can see both at the same time.

This complex of emotions has to be steered in the right way and that right way is being grateful to the Lord. Do not attribute any goodness to yourself. Because what is in you now has come from God; it is the attribute of God. So you must attribute all the goodness in you to God. Our emotions should be based on this. All our emotions should always be based on this line that any goodness that we have today is from our Lord. When you have this emotion, you are successful.

Superiority and Inferiority Complexes

Point to be noted: sometimes you do not suffer from any complex. If you are doing the right thing and everybody around you is incorrect; you think people should follow you. This is a balanced thought. There is nothing wrong with this. There is no ego and superiority involved in it. It is a simple matter of discipline. However, people will steer your attention to a misguided direction and say you are being egoistic. These are negative things that come from those who do not want to correct themselves, rather they put the blame on others.

We don’t understand what these complexes are. Maybe somebody who suffers from superiority complex is humble and maybe somebody who is suffering from inferiority complex is arrogant.

These complexes are about the thoughts; either complex can become a deterrent for you to learn further. If you suffer from superiority complex it is like you shut the door on yourself, ‘I cannot learn anything else, [I have all the knowledge]’. If you suffer from inferiority complex, you shut the door: ‘I am not able to learn anything’. The result is the same! Therefore, both complexes are bad.

You have to live a real life, don’t live in fantasies or dreams. Even before the creation of computers, a majority of people lived in the virtual world; the world of dreams. People set a desired list and they call that list of luxury their dream. They live all their life in pursuit of that desired list of luxury. When it doesn’t happen they plunge into the pond of inferiority complex. And if by mistake they get even half of what they have desired, they plunge into a superiority complex.

Live a realistic life. Be a realistic person. Forget about plans. Live for today; but don’t think about today, think about tomorrow. Be ambitious but not over ambitious.

Emotional Wellbeing

Our emotions are often less complex than we imagine them to be. Most people think that the things that have hurt you are what cause you to experience emotional pain, and in order to heal and experience real happiness you must resolve those old wounds. The reality, however, is somewhat different.

You can only feel emotions, including the painful ones, in the present moment. And what you feel in the present moment is determined by what you give your attention to. Nothing can hurt you unless you give it your attention. Most people can make themselves cry in just a few minutes by simply pulling up a vivid memory of something that was, at that time, painful. So why would you give your attention to things that cause pain?

If you think about the painful memory in life and you are actually concentrating on it, you are indulging in the luxury of pain, I think you yourself are to blame for it. Avoid thinking about the painful memories of life.

Some negative events can hold your attention. You perceive them to be a threat. Most people who ruminate on a negative past are simply unaware that they are doing it and there is no choice in the matter. Things you are unaware of are outside your control. Learning how to become aware of what you are paying attention to and how to shift your attention to something to make you feel better is one of the most powerful tools. This is for improving your emotional wellbeing.

Some people are in the pursuit of happiness. But they don’t know how to control their emotions. Some people want happiness but they don’t know what happiness is. Some people think happiness is all about having money and luxury. No. The nature of happiness differs from one person to another.

What we think and what we feel is determined by what we pay attention to. Not only do we have the ability to shift our attention away from painful things and give our attention to more pleasant thoughts or memories. As we do this, it inhibits our ability to think about the unpleasant painful things.

This happens because attention works on an activation/inhibition model: if you are paying attention to negative things it will almost take away the ability from you to think about the positive. You can either think negative or positive. You can’t be negative and positive at the same time. That’s why psychologists often say that people with depression see a more depressed world. The more you start to give your attention to things that feel good and start to see a more positive world, over time you will find yourself noticing fewer of the negatives in life.

Once you are aware you can do it, shifting your attention is something on which you can exert complete control. You can choose what you want to pay attention to and as a result, you can choose how you want to feel. For example, if you say to yourself, ‘I want to feel good today’ and you do not pay attention to negativity around you, you will feel better.

Try this with a friend: The next time you are talking to someone who is telling you about something negative happening to them, ask them to tell you about some positive experience instead. Then, notice the change in their facial expressions. When people start to talk about positive events that feel good, they start to smile; it is an almost involuntary reaction.

Does that sound too easy? Here is a tip that will make it even easier:

There are only two things in life that you can pay attention to that cause you to experience emotion: things you want and things you don’t want. Every single thing that you can think of that causes any type of significant emotion can be sorted into one of those two categories. Breakups, job loss, betrayal, the death of a loved one — all things you don’t want. Pets, best friends, birthday parties, getting a raise — all things you do want. You will always know when you are giving your attention to things that you don’t want in life; your emotions will tell you. Paying attention to things you don’t want generates negative emotions.

Sometimes we think about our past, we think about people that we did not want to associate with. We want to follow up with them, like what they are doing, what’s happening [in their life]? It’s painful, isn’t it? We should only pay attention to positive things in our life.

One of the most self-sabotaging things that people can give their attention to is an unwanted future.

Nothing in the future has actually happened, yet many people spend a good deal of their time experiencing negative emotions like anxiety, fear, and self-doubt because they are giving their attention to things they don’t want to occur. Doing this not only robs them of their present-moment happiness, but also prevents them from thinking about the positive experiences they could be creating in their future instead.

Our attention is the gateway to what we experience in life. Your attention is precious.

We should not give our attention to things or people who don’t deserve it rather they give us pain. You need to treasure your attention like it is something really unique. Your attention is your life. You cannot spend your life [focusing on the negative]. Your attention is very precious. Only apply your attentions to things that need your attention and it will be fruitful for you in life to put a smile on your face.

‘Learning to notice what you are paying attention to, and how to redirect your attention to things you want can change not only your current experience but also the life you create for yourself going forward.’

ThatChannel.com Interviews Younus AlGohar Part 2

The second part of ThatChannel.com’s Liquid Lunch programme with Younus AlGohar.

Hugh: So, we are going to do a second interview now and change the topics up a little bit. We are going to be talking about society, unification and peace. The last interview was about some of the problem so we’re gonna hopefully get to some of the solutions in this conversation.

Hildegard: Yes, and we seem to have the perfect magazine at hand called ‘Messiah Herald: Become the Master of Your Own Being’ and maybe I was jumping the gun a little bit half an hour ago but that, I think, really, is the hot topic today. Steve, talk to us about the magazine and the purpose behind it.

Steve: So, this is a monthly magazine that we issue and it is actually being spread all over the world now. And the beauty of it is because His Holiness Gohar Shahi has made spirituality accessible to everybody in this world. We see the increase in the material world, upgrades in technologies, this is an upgrade in spirituality. It makes it accessible to everybody. There is even a step in this month’s one where people can just download this from MessiahHerald.com or get it from the guise here or come to any one of our places and get this.

Page 12 has an actual step-by-step guide, how you can reawaken your heart. It is as simple as that. A 3 step guide that anybody can do. Doesn’t matter what religion or what faith you are. We have seen in the history that people have had to go away on missions, they have had to go sit around gurus, it is just not acceptable now. It is not possible that people can do this. All I heard of spirituality before is like the George Harrison – [inaudible] – the Beatles; you’ve got money, you’ve got time, you can go off and go to these retreats. It’s just not possible these days. So, His Holiness has beautifully made it accessible for all. I thoroughly recommend this magazine to all the viewers. As you said, it mentions about conquering yourself, self-awareness, knowing yourself to know God.

Hugh: I noticed on the cover of that one it says ‘Is the Promised Messiah Already Here?’

YAG: That is the question.

Hugh: What’s the answer?

YAG: Let’s find out.

Hildegard: Before we go there, if I just may. I understand you have a lot of workshops and you give lectures online. Here on this book it actually says ‘broadcast live, everyday at 10PM UK time’, tell me a little bit about how that works.

Steve: Yeah, 10PM UK time, His Holiness gives us that slot just teaching about love and spirituality. As you saw on Saturday, very up-to-date information, current news, current situations. And He thoroughly welcomes anybody to ask any questions. They can log on and ask questions and they will always be answered.

Hildegard: So, individuals can type into the chat and say ‘here, this is my issue, I would like your opinion’?

Steve: Certainly can and they do everyday.

Hildegard: This is like, really hands on.

Steve: This is what we need. This is a worldwide – we want everybody in the world to know about it so the internet is the perfect vehicle [for it].

Hildegard: Okay, so let’s talk a little bit about the coming of the Messiah. Because many religions have claimed this for thousands of years and they are always those who say nothing happens, or ‘2012 the world will end’, obviously nothing happened. [Inaudible] in the invisible world lots have happened. So, His Holiness, what is your take on the coming of the Messiah?

YAG: Messiah is related to the Jewish religion. It is the Messianic thought; there will be a Messiah. There is a lot of conflict on the word ‘Messiah’ because Christians think Jesus is Messiah and people from Judaism think there is another Messiah. And there was a problem when Jesus was arrested by the Romans, the Jewish scholars complained that Jesus calls himself Messiah, ask him who is he?

So, there is a concept of a Messianic figure in almost every religion. Hindus have this belief that there will a Messiah, a type of saviour, then Muslims have the same belief that there will be a saviour, according to their faith. And then, we have the Sikh community, they also have the same concept. So, this concept of an End Time personality, who, according to every religion will strengthen the religions. If it is a Hindu Messiah he will strengthen the Hindu religion and the followers of Hinduism. And Jewish concept tells us that the Jewish Messiah will acquire the Promised Land for them and strengthen the Jewish community. The Muslims also have the same concept of the End Times saviour.

Hugh: I am wondering, in a sense, if you have a concept of a Messiah – even if it is an alien Messiah, Hildegard –

Hildegard: That’s another discussion altogether.

Hugh: I think it’s the same discussion in respect that if we are expecting a Messiah to come and save us from our plight then, in a sense, we are putting our faith in an external factor versus taking responsibility ourselves for the situation we find ourselves in and doing something about it.

YAG: Actually, I got your point but the thing is it is not people who have concocted this concept of Messiah. If we had made up this story that we need somebody from extra-terrestrial; space, we are in that case putting our faith to external sources. But it is the thought which is coming from religions. Nobody has made up the thought, it is coming from religions. People who believe in religions they have this concept. People who are secular, do not believe in any religions, they are not waiting for any Messiah. So, it is a religious concept.

Hildegard: However, you are non-religious? The Messiah Foundation embraces all religions, correct? So, you are not looking for followers, you are non-religious. So, some people say, ‘Well, they are just preaching another Messiah; with all due respect we don’t need that’. We need somebody that helps us how to do our lives better.

YAG: That’s what we are doing.

Hildegard: So, that is in essence the mission. Where does the Messiah fit in? Are you helping me find the Messiah within myself, is the next question?

YAG: Oh my gosh, if somebody is not feeling well and I go there and give them medicine, and I heal them and everything, but they tell me, ‘Don’t talk about the doctor’, alright let’s not talk about the doctor. But, do you know what does a doctor do? That’s exactly what I am doing: giving you medicine, telling you your ailments, giving you  medicine and healing you. So, the job of the Messiah is to spread love, unify the entire human race. And this exactly what we need to do.

Okay, let’s forget about the Messiah, let’s do the job if you want to put it that way. Spreading love.

Hildegard: So, correct me if I am wrong, the Messiah is just giving us a whole new boost of love so it is easier for the individual to transcend – we spoke about hate and anger before, I don’t want to go there anymore – but that is what the Messiah does?

YAG: To be honest with you ‘Messiah’ is just a title. It is the Divine Energy which is coming in the guise of the Messiah. You can say the Divine Manifestation. The manifestation or that Super Man behind the clouds. If he doesn’t want to show us His face, he has taken a guise of somebody called Messiah. But we shouldn’t be concerned about the personality, we should be concerned about our own interest. And our interest is to become enlightened and powerful and to have peace in our heart and all the glory of our persona. That’s all.

Hildegard: So, let’s talk about the personal transformation in those who – I understand you have travelled extensively around the world, you go to conferences, do many interviews, you have your online workshops and discussions. What are some of the experience people have shared who had been activated, had their hearts opened to love?

YAG: What I feel every time I visit a country, some of these people have no knowledge about their [respective] field, and some people, the knowledge they have is dangerous. So, lack of knowledge. They are not properly informed. The discerning knowledge which can put their mind right, the knowledge which can fix their heart, that knowledge is lacking in every field. We are helping people to have the knowledge with which they can enlighten themselves and find who they really are. We are not concerned about Messiah, forget about Messiah. If Messiah comes and he doesn’t benefit me, I am not waiting for such a Messiah. If Messiah comes and he doesn’t benefit my soul, if he doesn’t improve the quality of my life, I shouldn’t be waiting for such a Messiah.

If Messiah just comes for his own personal interest, let him come. I am not bothered. I am only bothered about my personal quest which is exploring myself. Making the quality of my life better and if this is done from any angle, from any source, from any religion or any secular school of thought, or from any person then that person is very close to my heart. Even if that person is not Messiah. We are concerned about the philosophy, the ideology of love and peace not the person who may be dispensing the ideology of love and peace.

Hildegard: Well, as it appears we have been living in the ideology where we are separate from one another and focus on our separateness, rather than our togetherness, our unity, we are one organism.

YAG: It’s time now that we travel from being separate to togetherness. It is time now for unification. Because together we are powerful, divided we are estranged.

Hildegard: I would like to use the analogy of a computer network. The computer network out there is not really helpful to me unless my hard drive finds a way to connect to it, right? So, can you give us a specific example of what you are teaching? Your online courses or when you are doing your talks and travels. What are some of the steps our audience could practise? Like we talk about seeing a doctor, you want to have some idea of what he can do: change your diet, drink more water, whatever the doctor may recommend. Do you have any recommendations?

YAG: Well, what I do is multicultural and multidimensional. There are many problems that I am dealing with at a time. For example, when I speak everyday at 10PM UK time, I am live on Facebook, Periscope and YouTube. So, what happens is, people from all over the world they ask me questions on YouTube Live Chat and I answer these questions. Some of the questions are about their life, some of those questions are about the authenticity of the religions and they ask me which religion is better. They ask me about their religion, what they are doing as a religious person if it’s okay. So, I give them my understanding and references from their books and I tell them whether or not they are right or wrong.

So, in a way I am dealing with different sorts of cases. The nature of these cases is different, everybody is coming from a perspective of life and different religions. But I am happy when their questions are answered and I see a ray of hope on their faces, it satisfies me and I tell myself that I am really making a contribution towards forming a better society in this world.

Hildegard: You mentioned dimensions. What is your take on dimensions? For there are those who say they simultaneously exist on many different dimensional world at once. People who have visions or see elves or tree-creatures or different life forms, or aliens. What is your take on what are dimensions? Because we are so, as you mentioned earlier, stuck on the third dimension. This is what it is all about and some people say no, after a near-death experience we know that consciousness moves on, I don’t really die, the body may die but like if I take off my grey sweater, I continue living.

YAG: You are right. There is no such thing as fuller death. This is a journey. We are here for a specific reason and the body that we are contained in, if you call this death when the body perishes, we can call it death but then again this body is not real you. The real you is your spirit and that spirit does not know death. We are constantly travelling and going through evolution: spiritual evolution, geographical evolution and celestial evolution. And like the dimension that you were talking about. We have 7 souls inside our body and the dimension that you will be more focused on depends on what soul are you aligned with concurrently.

If you are aligned with the soul which rests on the right side of our bosom, it will take us to a different realm. Maybe somebody else is aligned with another soul so his or her dimension will be totally different.

After you have explored all your realities and you have aligned with all your souls, and you have been to all the celestial realms, then comes You: a fuller, dimensional person who knows everything. And then, that person will come to the divine dimension, which is the dimension of God.

Hildegard: So, indeed, there is hope. The worst that can happen people lose their body, terrorism or no terrorism, and we can work on the true self by becoming spiritually more conscious and therefore we can have whatever happens outside ripple, like water off a duck’s back.

YAG: But if you lose your body before your time you will be deprived of obtaining this spiritual enlightenment in the lifetime you are given to [obtain it]. If you die before your time then whatever you were supposed to obtain in this world in that frame of time, you won’t obtain it. So, we must not lose our life, we must not just throw our life away to any reason.

Hildegard: And that is unfortunately very much the case today. When you hear of young people committing suicide, en masse almost, we have such tragic stories here and I know they exist in other places as well. What do you attribute that to? And I know you work with young people, please elaborate a little bit.

YAG: They have many, many different issues. Sometimes, our desires, for example, are good. For example, I don’t have a car and I want to buy a car, this is a desire but if I do buy a car it will improve my life. Okay, that’s good. Let him go have a car. Now, if what you desire is not good for you and it is really dangerous for you then you are in pursuit of that desire, somebody who is honest with you should stop you from there. Right? So, we have many different desires and when the desires are not fulfilled they commit suicide. So, there are different reasons for suicide.

Hildegard: Do you think the religions were designed to educate us on a spiritual path and have they done a good job of it? What’s you opinion on it?

YAG: Religion were designed to help people, but only those who were in the Primordial Time and chose to have a pure life and those who wanted the luxuries of the world, religions are not for them. Number 2- There is not one religion, which was designed by God, to suit everybody in the world. All these religions were designed to cater for the needs of one particular group of people.

For example, Islam was created for the spiritual needs of the people who inhabited the Arabian Peninsula. This is why strict religious laws were implemented; if you are [caught] stealing they chop your hands off. But if you do the same in USA or Canada or UK, this is barbaric. But for them, because of their temperament – people have different temperaments everywhere. So, not even one religion is universal, they are regional.

Hugh: But here we are now and we still have those religions and now with the world getting smaller and people are moving all over the world; different cultures living side-by-side with each other, you know, these religions are beginning to rub up against each other –

YAG: That’s why these religions are creating problems now.

Hugh: Yeah, exactly. So, now to get from here though, because many people feel very strongly about their religions. And you know sometimes I think there is nothing harder than a worldview for people to change. People are so invested at the way they look at the world, right? So, for somebody to shatter that for them it’s very unsettling. That’s what I think causes people to get into a terrorist mindset or to become radicalised. So, here we are in this world. We are trying to get into unification. Certainly, we are trying to get to a place where people can live peacefully alongside one another. How do we do that? How do we overcome this religious mindset that some people have?

YAG: These people who practise religion they practise it very strictly, they become shortsighted. They are like the frog of the well; they do not know what is outside the well. You cannot educate them. Every single person who practises a religion becomes intolerant. That person thinks only he or she is right people of other religions are wrong. There is no time for religion. You cannot change them.

Hugh: One of the things that disturbs me is that the terrorist incidents in Europe where people are starting to become less tolerant – this is my concern, I hope I am wrong actually – but I have seen it here in Toronto too where everybody has become a little bit radicalised. People are saying, you know, we can’t have Muslims in the country. There are actually some people saying that. And not willing to engage in a debate because they feel that engaging in a debate would be fruitless. So, my concern is that instead of people becoming more tolerant or more open to working alongside one another as these incidents happen the people of all cultures, of all backgrounds, start to become isolationists in their thinking; less willing to even think about having a conversation.

YAG: I mean, what is happening right now and the tolerance you are talking about where people are beginning to have less tolerance, I think that is pretty much natural. If I live in my house alone with my children and then we have visitors and they stay there for 2-3 months. One day I will feel that my privacy is being invaded and I will start to feel frustrated. Actually, this is what is happening now in Canada. So many refugees are now coming and you feel that your values and freedom is being put on the stake and your way of life is now being jeopardised, and this integration and a lot of foreigners who are naive to this culture and your religious or secular values are pouring into your country. Perhaps, this is fear which is coming up as intolerance. The government should do something about it. They should only take as many refugees as your nation –

Hugh: I agree, but I don’t know if we can trust the governments to do the right thing. As I said, you know, if we think that the problem is even higher. And sometimes my suspicions, frankly, are that people at the highest levels are really trying to undermine the wellbeing of people, of families, of nations because – I don’t know what the real reason is – they thrive on chaos or misery or whatever it is.

YAG: [Laughs] That’s true. They are not concerned about right or wrong. They are just working on their political agenda. Whatever makes their opposition in politics stronger they will do that. I don’t think they are concerned about right or wrong.

Hugh: So, how do we get to unification from here –

YAG: Total unification is not possible. Unification is only possible among those people who are like minded. Do you understand?

Hildegard: That was going to be my question because you mentioned as we learn spiritually about all of the souls that are inside of us, we have to be willing to look at that. So, who is willing, is it in the makeup of the unique soul the human beings carry? Some of them are already predestined to “wake up”, and other those who are just waking up because they chose not to this lifetime around?

YAG: Not all the souls have this potential of finding love and peace. Not all the souls are equal in nature. Not all the souls are similar in nature. Only the souls which are similar in nature to each other will look for unification. Some people or I should rather say some of the souls are designed to look similar and familiar to each other and some others are totally opposite in nature. Those who are prone to create a chaos and promote hatred they will not understand any other language. They will only understand how to create more hatred and more chaos. So, you cannot talk about unification, love and peace among those people. They are designed to promote hatred.

Hugh: Then what do you do?

YAG: You cannot do anything!

Hugh: Because we are living in the same world as those people, right? Some would argue those are the terrorists, the bad guys, those are the people that maybe the good guys need to go to war with.

YAG: No bad guy will turn into a good guy, no matter what you do.

Hugh: So, what do we do with them?

YAG: We have to take precautions and protections. I am being realistic. I am not telling you stories to make anybody happy. I am telling you something which is very close to reality. Not everybody will love and not everybody will love the idea of promoting love and peace. There are people who are designed to promote hatred and you can never change them.

Hildegard: So, the people who became radicalised, like Steve was saying earlier –

YAG: They were different in nature.

Hildegard: So, their soul is different than somebody who has a desire to live in peace and harmony?

YAG: No soul on earth who has the potential of living with love and peace will or can be radicalised because their nature will not allow it. Only those are at the stake of being radicalised, who, in their nature are already radicalised by God. So, they have been divinely radicalised.

Hildegard: Wow! You are opening a whole new kind of –

YAG: The only person you can blame, and I am sorry to say that, but we are just puppets. The boss is responsible for everything.

Hildegard: However, we are not to – [inaudible] – responsibility then because human beings have known to make transformations. Maybe people haven’t been mass-murderers and haven’t been radicalised yet there are most certainly things that I have done that I am not proud of and then later on I felt better. I think that is human nature, right?

YAG: I think mass-murderers and these terrorists are all the same but they are doing it for a different cause. That’s all I understand.

Hildegard: Your foundation draws those who have a soul that is resonating with unification to begin with or else they wouldn’t even be drawn –

YAG: We are trying to reach everybody but the problem is those who, in nature, are already radicalised, when they ask a question they are already attacking on us; they are swearing at us, to them we are infidels. [They say] ‘What is love? There is no such thing as love in Islam.’ Alright.

Messiah Foundation International loves everybody without prejudice, without reservation of the colour of your skin. We love everybody. We are practically trying to raise awareness of practical love, spirituality, enlightenment. We love everybody and we would love to draw attention of people who do not love to love. We are trying and we know there are only certain people who are prone to love will be drawn to love. Not everybody will be drawn to love. We are striving, [I don’t know] whether or not we are thriving but we are striving.

Hugh: And it’s an ongoing project. So, people can go to the website, of course, and listen to the daily message, daily broadcast. And people can get the information on the website which is www.goharshahi.us. So, thank you everybody for tuning in.

Global Peace Through Spiritual Sciences & Divine Love

Global Peace Through Spiritual Sciences & Divine Love

The following is the transcript of Younus AlGohar’s speech delivered at the Global Peace Through Spiritual Sciences & Divine Love programme in Toronto, Canada.

Good afternoon. I am privileged, honoured and very happy to be here in front of you. I would like to share some of my thoughts, some of my feelings and some of my experiences. I’m not going to give you a lecture on spirituality, but I would like to raise awareness of open-mindedness, of human values and love.

A few hours ago, I was checking my Facebook and there was a video of a young man who was brutally getting beaten up. People were pelting stones at him. They were throwing at him anything they could grab. Then, he died and they stripped him naked. He was all naked and soaked in blood, but the people who were beating him up didn’t stop even though they realised he was dead. They were throwing huge stones at his dead body. His skull was cracked open and there was a fountain of blood coming out from his head. They were raising slogans, ‘Allahu Akbar, God is great.’ There were more than 100 people. They were killing this one, solitary guy with the help of these slogans. Is this religion? This is terrible. How would you feel if this was happening to you?

These people, they were not Taliban or ISIS. They were not terrorists; they were common folks. This is the level of fanaticism, extremism and ignorance. We are living in the 21st century, where science has provided us with a lot of inventions and has made life a little easier than we could have imagined 50 years ago. However, we’re going downwards emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and, of course, mentally.

We believe Christianity, Islam and Judaism were all founded by individuals who were sent by God, but people of one religion have a very fierce disagreement with others; although all these religions were founded on principles of divinity. It is strange. This is not one solitary incident. Wherever you go, you will see these incidents taking place.

It is a very sensitive matter that I am speaking on, however, I cannot keep quiet. I cannot just go here and there and deliver lectures on spirituality, and not even realise what people are going through. We’re living in very strange times.

It is like I want to go to England and I bought a ticket with Air Canada. Now, [suppose] I change my mind and I don’t want to fly with Air Canada – instead, I want to fly with British Airways. If Air Canada says, ‘No. If you don’t fly by Air Canada, we will kill you,’ this is ridiculous. My main destination is England. Air Canada, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and all other airlines are just means of travel. In a similar way, God is the destination and the religions were supposed to be the means of travel.

If I lived as a Muslim for ten years and now I want to change my religion and become a Christian, and you tell me, ‘If you leave Islam, we will kill you,’ it doesn’t make any sense to me. Why? Jesus was also sent by God. What is wrong with Jesus? What is wrong with Christianity? Joseph, Jacob, Moses, Adam, Abraham – all these spiritual dignitaries were sent by God. Why should I become a religious person and risk my life, my peace and the lives of my family? [When I know that] if I didn’t like this religion after ten years and I wanted to switch over – maybe I liked Judaism and wanted to become a Jew – people from my previous religion would want to kill me? It is not making any sense to me.

The thing is, when all these three Abrahamic religions were founded by divinely sent individuals, I do not understand why we have difficulty to accept all the religion and respect them all? Now, there is something wrong. All these religions were founded to cater for the needs of the people of one particular area. They were not designed to cater for the needs of everybody.

While I am speaking, I would like to take this opportunity to have my say on this point: there should be no such thing as Islamophobia. The threat is not coming from the religion of Islam, the threat is coming from the majority of people who misunderstood Islam.

When you become a fanatic, your gates are shut.

There is no such thing as extremism. For example, blessings. Whether the blessings are just little in quantity or huge, they will never change from blessings into something else. In a similar way, God’s love or religious values, even if you take them for extreme, they will not hurt or harm you. So this is not extremism; this is fanaticism. This is hatred and ignorance.

One who doesn’t value a human life, I can never accept that person can ever love God. One who cannot appreciate human values – the value of a human life – I do not think he follows any religion at all.

What comes from the divine, nobody will go against it: that is love. Ask anybody, ‘Do you like love?’ Maybe they will say, ‘We love love,’ whether they are Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs or Jews; even those who don’t practise any religion. Love is divine. What we need today in this global society is love.

The thing is, where is love? It is not available at Macy’s, Walmart, churches, mosques, synagogues or temples. Love is not [as easy to get as going] to Tim Hortons for a cup of coffee and Timbits. Love is hard to come by.

Love is a passage that is paved with a lot of self-denial and sacrifices.

When Jesus said, ‘Love your enemy like you love yourself,’ I thought that perhaps there was something wrong and that Jesus couldn’t have said this. How can you love your enemy? I really suspected that there may be an error. It doesn’t make any sense. Young people spend many weeks and months before they find the chemistry of love between them. They spend a lot of time together. You can’t go to your enemy and say, ‘Can you spend some time with me so I can love you?’

So is it just a phrase or is it a reality? It is a reality.

When you want to love your enemies, it simply means you have nothing left in you but blessings and love.

It is when you have no other feeling left in you; when you have subtracted all other ailments of being a human being and negativity from your personality. Nothing is left but love, blessings and the divine bounty in you, so you are forced by your nature to love everybody.

What I am saying is not imperative. It is not advice. I am sharing my thoughts. Honestly speaking, my concern these days is to raise awareness of this ignorance which is prevailing in our societies: hatred in the guise of distorted religions. It is really troublesome and it is spreading like fire. If we just keep ourselves busy with spiritual practices at home, in the workplace or meditation centre and we do not take it upon ourselves to correct society and the mentality of people – the way people think – then we are not going to have a wonderful society.

This hatred is prevailing. We need a lot of hearts which have been kindled with the flame of love.

Lectures upon spirituality will not help anybody. We need some practical exuberance of love. We need to have a spiritual trade in which we import and export love. Love is a substance. Love is not just [limited to] talk.

The place of love is the heart and the heart must be free.

If the heart is already preoccupied with a lot of other activities, the heart is not going to practise love. You can only preoccupy your heart with one activity because love is a very heavy duty activity. We need to free our hearts from all shackles. Then, get our heart admitted in the kindergarten of love. When the heart has learned to love, you will become a wonderful person. Then, you are love for everybody; you are love to everybody.

This love doesn’t come by reading books, going to temples, churches or listening to lectures. We have to teach our hearts. We have to provide our hearts with positive energy. That is the first thing.

There are many different sources of positive energy. For example, names of God – any name in any language. It may seem confusing: how can positive energy be obtained from names of God? But there is a way, a method according to which the name of God is said in a certain way, for a certain number of times, then it starts to generate divine energy. The moment it starts to generate divine energy, you feel the vibration. That vibration will nurture the innermost nature of your heart.

This is an introduction to love. Only you will know whether your heart has this substance of love when you have it. You will not need to rely on [anyone to] confirm to you that you have love. Your heart is not lying. If you are sitting in front of me, and I can see you and you can see me, [it would be silly for you to ask me], ‘Am I sitting in front of you?’ and [for me to reply], ‘Yes you are.’

When your heart has learned to love you will feel the vibration.

Questions and Answer Session

Q: What in a human being [makes them] distance themselves from the actual state of being loving and feeling divine love?

There are multicellular and unicellular living objects. In a similar way, we are multi-spiritual. It is a huge universe and we have seven spirits in our body.

The spirit which can be in the most possible nearness of God is the main spirit.

Some people who want to be near to God – but they do not know that the soul which can drag them into the most possible nearness of God is still not enlightened, they feel the distance. They are in the presence of God, however when it comes to measuring the distance or nearness, that particular spirit which can go into the most possible nearness of God is the main spirit (the soul). When it is enlightened, you will have difficulty in finding out whether it is [you] or god; you become so near.

Q: How could we raise the vibration of love in the world? To bring more love?

That is a very difficult question.

Before I give away money to everybody, I need to make sure my pockets are full. First, we need to make sure that we have enough love.

Most spiritual people, they just talk about love but their wife is lacking his love. Their children and family are deprived of his love. The gentleman talks about love, ‘My love is for everybody,’ but his children will complain, ‘’Where is my share of love?’

There is a difference in a talkative form of love and practical love. Practical love resides in the heart, it lights up like a candle. The rays of love cannot be controlled. You will just sit there and the beams of love will emanate from your heart. You become so intermingled with the substance of love that you become love on two legs.

Love has no boundaries; it is for everybody. For example, you love human beings but not your dog? [Then it means] you are a liar. You love a human being but you don’t care for the cat on the street? Then you are a liar. Love is blind and it is for everybody; whether you are two-legged or four-legged, does it really make a difference? When there is only love, this is for every single form of life.

Some people only love human beings or their pets. They say, ‘This is my pet, but I don’t love [someone else’s] pet.’ When you have pure love in your heart, this will not happen. You will love all animals like your own pet because you have love [in your heart].

Something is missing in love when love is exclusive. Love is perfect when it is inclusive.

This is my understanding and this is how I view love. Maybe some other people view it from another angle and have discovered more about love – but this is my discovery about love.
