God’s Point of View

The following is an excerpt from a speech Younus AlGohar delivered to a gathering of spiritual leaders in Mexico before the Amor Universal Conference.

Lord Ra Riaz Gohar Shahi said, ‘Those who are spiritual – who are Godly – are always happy. They never look sad.’

When I went into the depth of knowledge pertaining to God, I found out that God is more romantic than Romeo and he wants his friend to act like Juliet. However, when we become spiritual and religious, we become so serious.

When it comes to becoming a spiritual person, there should not be any difference whether that seeker is a woman or a man. There are so many people in the world who talk about spirituality; however, their definition of spirituality is very fake.

The point I want to raise today is how do we, the creation, think – and how does God think? What is God’s point of view? How does he think about us and what does he want?

Both parties should be aware that there is a relationship between them. For example, if you love me, you should tell me. If I love you, I should I tell you. If I love a woman, and everybody else knows but her (or vice versa), what is the point?

So in a similar fashion, if we want to love God, we should tell him. If I want to tell a woman that I love her, but she is not here, then it is like talking to the walls. When you are in a mosque, church, temple or synagogue and you say, ‘God, I love you,’ you are telling walls.

The temples, churches, mosques, etc. are not the true houses of God. In these worship places, we do some sort of worship. That’s it.

The true house of God is the heart.

There was a man at the time of Moses. He heard that Moses spoke to God on the Mount of Sinai. So he went to every mountain and yelled, ‘God, where are you?’ There was no reply. When there was no reply, he became really depressed. He said, ‘God, I looked for you everywhere. You spoke to Moses on this Mount of Sinai. I came here and called out your name, but you didn’t reply.’

Then, [sometime later], it was his calling. he was about to die. The angels who were taking out his soul asked him, ‘Why are you so sad?’

He said, ‘I wanted to speak with God all my life. I wanted to love him all my life, but I couldn’t find any way.’

Then, in that last moment, the angels said to him, ‘Speak to God now. He is listening to you.’

He said, ‘God, where are you? I looked for you everywhere.’

God replied, ‘You looked for me everywhere but you forgot yourself. I was in your heart.’

So we need to find out this heart’s door and how to open it.

This is the important organ in our body, whether it is about our physical life or whether it is about our relationship with God.

People want to love God. Some people want to love God while being a Muslim. Some others want to love God as a Christian. Every religious person wants to love God within their religion. This is why everybody loves him differently.

But now, God wants them to love him with uniformity. All should love him with the heart.

Younus AlGohar's explanation of the difference between Messenger-hood and Prophethood and how Prophet Mohammad fulfilled his roles as both a Prophet and a Messenger.

Main points:

- A Messenger received Wahi (divine revelation) from God through which he establishes a complete religion; it is the name of the Messenger of a religion which is included in the Motto of Faith. After the demise of the Messenger, when the religion he established falls subject to modifications at a certain point. Then God sends down a prophet in order to reform the religion. A prophet also receives divine revelations from God called 'Sahifa' through which he reforms the modifications made in the religion. A prophet does not have his own Motto of Faith; he reforms the religion of the Messenger before him.

- The termination of Prophethood, not Messenger-hood, was announced. The religious clerics have instilled it into the minds of Muslims that if someone is a prophet, it means he has a Motto of Faith and he will establish a new religion. Whereas the job of a prophet is to reform the religion, not establish a new one. The Finality of Prophethood denotes the discontinuation of the rank of Prophethood, but not the discontinuation of the job prophets would do - that of reforming the religion. So then who will reform the modifications made in the religion now?

- Prophet Mohammad is the Last Messenger and the Last Prophet. He established the religion of Islam in the capacity of his Messenger-hood. And as a Prophet, he reformed the adulterations made to the religions of Jews, the fire-worshippers, the star-worshippers and Christians. Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) did not serve the religion of Islam in the capacity of his Prophethood. After Prophet Mohammad left, Prophethood ended; so the job of reforming any modifications made to Islam was given to the True Scholars in the religion.

- For the reformation of the previous religions, the verses that were revealed upon Prophet Mohammad are still present in the Koran today, for example, Koran 2:62.

'It makes no difference whether you are a Muslim, Jew, Christian, fire-worshipper or star-worshipper. As long as you have belief in three things, your status in the eyes of God will be like that of saints. You will neither have fear nor regret for anything and you will enter paradise.' - Koran 2:62

- Prophet Mohammad was the only prophet to do repair work in multiple religions. Simultaneously, Prophet Mohammad repaired and renewed the Jews' religion and he also renewed the Christians', Sabians' and Hindus' religions. He absolutely did. His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi said, 'Prophet Mohammad instructed his daughter, Bibi Fatima, to go and renew the Hindu religion once again.' As a Prophet, God had given Prophet Mohammad the responsibility of amending other religions; so Prophet Mohammad appointed Bibi Fatima to bless Hindus. They know her by 'Durga Maa' and 'Parvati'. When a group of Hindus came to meet His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi, HDE Gohar Shahi warmly welcomed them and told them 'There is just a slight difference between you and Muslims. The Muslims received the benevolence of ALM whereas you, the Hindus, were given benevolence from a mixture of ALM and ALR.' The benevolence HDE Gohar Shahi mentioned here was rendered to them by Bibi Fatima.

The Koran 33:49 says, 'Prophet Mohammad is not the father of any man. He is the last of the Prophets.'

Prophet Mohammad, being the last reformer for all religions, had rights upon all religions and their followers. He could marry anyone whether they were Jews, Christians, etc. without having them recite the marriage vows the Muslim way.

At the request of a viewer, Younus AlGohar explains the true meaning of Aboodiyat (servitude) and Ibadat (worship) in light of the Koran.

Main points:

'I created Jinns and human beings for my Aboodiyat (servitude).' - Koran 51:56

- Ibadat (worship with the body and soul) is part of servitude to God. Generally, the word used for worship, 'Ibadat', is used incorrectly. In Urdu, the word one should use for worship is 'Bandagi', not 'Ibadat'.

- Ibadat comes is derived from Aboodiyat. The word 'Abd' is used to refer to the combination of a man's inner and outer being; his body and his soul together. For example, Prophet Mohammad is called 'Abdahu' (Man of God) and 'Rasoolahu' (Messenger of God). 'Abdahu' means one whose body and inner faculties both come under the control of God.

This word group is used by the Devil when he says in Koran 38:82, 'I swear by your honour, I will kidnap all for except those who are yours.'

- One whose body and soul - outer and inner - become completely obedient to God will be called 'Abd'. Until your outer and inner become completely obedient to God, you will not be at the rank of Aboodiyat (servitude).

'Salat is invalid without the presence of the Spiritual Heart.' - Prophetic Tradition

- Your worship qualifies to be known as 'Ibadat' when your body and soul both are engaged in the worship of God together. The word 'Ibadat' means that you are present in the court of God inwardly and outwardly; physically and spiritually.

- Some types of worship are built-in: for example, as soon as you revive your inner faculties, they engage in the invocation of God's name and you do not have to teach them. And then there are some rituals of worship which, initially, you have to perform with your body. When your soul is newly revived, it does not have the ability to sit, stand or prostrate. So initially, you have to perform the worship physically until the soul is capable of doing it on its own.

- Once your soul is capable of performing worship independently, you are not required to perform the worship physically. However, people who reach this stage and are appointed as Spiritual Guides must engage in worship in front of people. Otherwise, people will question as to why they instruct people to offer Salat but don't do it themselves.

- So how should you worship? When you worship, make sure your body, soul and Spiritual Heart are engaged in worship. For that is when your worship will reach the rank of Aboodiyat (servitude) and will be accepted by God. And if you are reciting the Koran and performing Salat verbally only, and your soul and Spiritual Heart are not involved, then neither will you reach the rank of servitude nor will your worship be accepted by God. It won't even be worthy of being called worship.
