Unitarian Spiritualism Conference in Toronto, Canada 2017

The Unitarian Spiritualism Conference, hosted by Messiah Foundation Canada and the Universal Great Brotherhood, was an amazing experience for all involved. We were pleased to see the positive response and meet with so many people whose lives have been spiritualised through His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi‘s blessings.

Steve Bell, President of Messiah Foundation UK, spoke beautifully about the importance and practicality of spirituality in modern-day life. Master Paul Acuna from the Universal Great Brotherhood also shared an admirable perspective on life and human connection.

Celebrity guest Waqar Zaka also spoke about his personal experience with members of Messiah Foundation International.

‘My personal experience with [HH Younus AlGohar] is that this is a method of bringing spiritual elements in your heart. I think it is amazing that [His Holiness] has a method that actually creates the atmosphere where you can go anywhere in the world, but still, your heart will be connected to God. I think this is a great service to humanity.’ – Waqar Zaka on Opening of the Spiritual Heart

His Holiness Younus AlGohar, the keynote speaker and CEO of Messiah Foundation, delivered a mesmerising speech on divine love, the history and relevance of spirituality and the state of religions. The audience was fascinated by his wise words and wholeheartedly embraced his unique message for humanity.

Many people from different religious backgrounds participated in the conference. Mr Sufi Nadeem and his musical band performed many popular Sufi songs which further added to the spiritual atmosphere. A number of people from the crowd even got out of their seats to engage in a Sufi dance while he performed.

We would like to thank Mr Hugh Reilly (Host of Liquid Lunch, ThatChannel.com) for hosting our programme and honourable guest Waqar Zaka for providing social media coverage of the Unitarian Spiritualism Conference.

Imam Mehdi Will Not Impose Islam Through Bloodshed

Imam Mehdi Will Not Impose Islam Through Bloodshed

The following is the English transcript of Younus AlGohar’s lecture

Those who say, ‘Imam Mehdi will kill non-Muslims,’ are ignorant of the truth and the Koran.

It is a common misperception in Muslim circles that Imam Mehdi will impose Islam on the entire world. The concept of Imam Mehdi was given to Muslims through celestial scriptures, from God. Similarly, the concept of the Messiah in Judaism is also from celestial scriptures. If the Jews think the Messiah will impose Judaism and the Christians think Jesus shall impose Christianity, while Muslims think Imam Mehdi shall impose Islam; this causes a lot of confusion.

God has given the concept of an Awaited One in all celestial scriptures and if a Muslim thinks only Islam’s concept is correct, that person is not a true Muslim. Muslims are required by their religion to believe in all prophets, messengers and the four celestial scriptures.

Now the concept of Imam Mehdi is from God and the concept of the Messiah is also from God, therefore how is it possible that God will send Imam Mehdi to spread Islam and the Messiah to spread Judaism all over the world? Does God have a plan to wreak havoc and cause bloodshed? It just doesn’t make any sense.

How can this concept exist in a Muslim’s mind that Islam will spread over the entire world when it is for Islam that Prophet Mohammad said,

‘Nothing would be left in the Koran for except customary recitation and nothing will be left in Islam for except its name.’

When the Muslims conquered Mecca, it was known as the Golden Age of Islam. The Muslims had their own Islamic Sultanate but even in that era, Islam was confined to a piece of land, it had not spread all over the world. Later on, the Caliphs invaded countries and enforced Islam. However, I am completely against the act of invading and attacking another country in order to enforce your religion upon them. This is wrong. It is in direct violation of what the Koran says,

 ‘La iqra fiddeen’ [2:256]

This is often translated by clerics as: there is no compulsion in the religion. However, this is a misinterpretation. It actually means: do not do anything in the religion that makes you feel disgusted. How can you not feel disgusted, killing a 6-month old baby just because his parents did not accept Islam? This is against the principles of Islam and the Koran.

A Muslim would say that the era of Prophet Mohammad was the best and yet we know that even in the era of Prophet Mohammad the Islamic flag did not reign over the entire world.

The Commencement of Eminence

Imam Mehdi shall be greater in eminence and possess more knowledge than Adam Safi Allah; how can any Muslim attribute violence and bloodshed to Imam Mehdi?

The most important point to note is that when God was creating Adam Safi Allah, the angels objected. The angels suspected that he would again cause mischief and bloodshed. They said to God, ‘Are we not enough to glorify you and sing your praise?’ God’s argument in response was that this time he was going to give Adam the Knowledge of Eminence. [Koran 2:30]

Those sects in Islam who claim that Imam Mehdi will use the power of his sword to impose Islam on the entire world, I have a question for them: has Islam not always been subjected to bloodshed?

In order to eliminate bloodshed from the nature of man, God granted Adam the Knowledge of Eminence; it simply means Muslims do not know what the Knowledge of Eminence really is nor do they understand what is written in the Koran. How can it be that Imam Mehdi will possess this Knowledge of Eminence, which was given to eliminate bloodshed and at the same time he will cause bloodshed and kill all who do not accept Islam? How can good and evil coexist together?

Adam Safi Allah was given the minimum knowledge of how to generate divine light from the name of God. Imam Mehdi will not only possess the knowledge that was given to Adam, He will also possess and dispense the knowledge of how to obtain enlightenment from the sub-spirits of God (Jussa Taufeeq-e-Illahi/Tifle Noorie) and He will even dispense the knowledge with the help of which one will be able to see God (Deedar-e-Illahi) and the method by which one can come under the theophanies of God.

God has invested all his special powers and authority within Imam un Mubeen [Koran 36:12].

Imam un Mubeen (The Elusive Imam) means the one who does not have to be searched for; His grandeur and majesty is such that it speaks for itself. People will be humbled before him and compelled to believe that only He can be the Imam un Mubeen. Those who still maintain to reject Him, despite seeing all the signs, are those whose eyes are blind and heart is blind.

There are 27 Haroof-e-Mukatiyat (The Disjointed Letters). All prophets and messengers together only brought down the knowledge of 2 letters and Imam Mehdi shall bring down the remaining 25. How much knowledge that must be! Adam’s eminent knowledge was merely a pinch of knowledge compared to the knowledge Imam Mehdi shall dispense. Imam Mehdi is dispensing the secretive knowledge of God (Ilm-e-Ladduni).

Those who think Imam Mehdi shall pick up the sword are not only blasphemers of Imam Mehdi; they are blaspheming and rejecting the Koran, Prophet Mohammad and God. Can any cleric legitimately say that according to Islam, one who is involved in bloodshed will go to heaven? Only those are involved in bloodshed who do not possess the Knowledge of Eminence. In other words, one who is involved in bloodshed in the name of God/religion is trying to prove God wrong. Those who have obtained this Knowledge of Eminence only spread peace, love and connect people with God.

Prophet Mohammad did participate in wars, however, not a single infidel died from his sword. In those days, the Arab mentality was such that the weapon was seen as a man’s power. According to the mentality of the people at the time, had Prophet Mohammad not held a sword, they would have seen him as a coward. However, Prophet Mohammad never killed anyone.

God sent Prophet Mohammad down as a mercy upon all mankind. [Koran 21:107]

Prophet Mohammad even said, ‘If I had used a sword, would all my teeth have broken?’ When the infidels in Ta’if sent mad dogs after the Prophet and his shoes were full of blood, Gabriel asked, ‘Shall I join the two mountains so that they may be destroyed?’ Prophet Mohammad said, ‘No, I have not come to harm anyone; I have come as a blessing for all.’

If God gave Adam the Knowledge of Eminence to eliminate bloodshed, he must have given Prophet Mohammad something even greater; so that neither Prophet Mohammad nor those who were in the physical and spiritual company of Prophet Mohammad would have the urge to cause bloodshed.

All religions allow one to hold a weapon in self-defence, provided you are being attacked by the enemy. However, there is no religion that allows you to use a weapon to enforce your religion upon others. Therefore, having this conjecture for Imam Mehdi is utterly blasphemous.

Imam Mehdi will not kill any Christian or Jew. The message of Imam Mehdi is love and the knowledge Imam Mehdi is dispensing is far greater than the Knowledge of Eminence granted to Adam Safi Allah.

Recognise A True Sufi In The Light Of HDE Gohar Shahi’s Teachings

Recognise A True Sufi In The Light Of HDE Gohar Shahi’s Teachings

Younus AlGohar explains what a true Sufi is and how a true Sufi is recognised. He discusses why giving this information to the common public led many fake Sufis and religious clerics to oppose His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi.

Main points:

– In order to preserve a religion, you need to spiritualise it. Religion without spirituality becomes a monster. Every religion when the spiritual system within that religion was destroyed, was made subject to great violence in the name of the religion and God. God granted every messenger two types of knowledge. One is knowledge that deals with exterior cleanliness and rituals of the religion. The other knowledge is the core of religion: knowledge which awakens your soul, enlightens your heart and purifies your ego. His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi declared, ‘The exterior form of knowledge without accompanying the interior knowledge is a great mischief.’

– HDE Gohar Shahi is the super spiritual scientist. HDE Gohar Shahi doesn’t simply tell you what to do; rather, he tells you the consequences and benefits of doing something. He tells you what knowledge will benefit your souls. He is a bold critic on contemporary religious practices all over the world.

– HDE Gohar Shahi explains how to recognise a true Sufi. HDE Gohar Shahi explains that only a thief will recognise a thief and in a similar way, only is a saint is spiritually capable of recognising another another saint of God. Nevertheless, HDE Gohar Shahi gives common people to criteria through which they can test to see if someone is appointed by God. All you need to do is ask your spiritual mentor to initiate your heart into spirituality (grant you Opening of the Spiritual Heart); if he can make your Spiritual Heart engage in remembrance of God, he is a true Sufi.

– In countries like Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, there are many fake Sufis who con innocent people out of their wealth. These are people who claim to be Sufis but they do not have the power to initiate anyone’s heart into spirituality; they have not purified their ego or reached any stage of enlightenment. When HDE Gohar Shahi came, he told people the criteria to recognise a true Sufi so many of these fake Sufis were exposed. His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi does not advise people to be religious, but rather spiritual. HDE Gohar Shahi’s presence and teachings caused a revolution in the minds and hearts of people; they began to recognise the fake Sufis and ignorant religious clerics for who they really were. HDE Gohar Shahi’s teachings pose a threat to all those who sell the religion and loot unsuspecting people. Therefore, the religious clerics and fake Sufis from all sects in Pakistan united in opposition of HDE Gohar Shahi.

– It was not just religious clerics and fake Sufis who turned against HDE Gohar Shahi. The police, politicians, army, secret services, thieves and custom officers across Pakistan also became part of the alliance against HDE Gohar Shahi. This was because HDE Gohar Shahi was exposing the corruption in Pakistani society and inviting people to obtain enlightenment so that corruption could be eradicated. He wanted to introduce people to spiritual and moral culture. Journalism in Pakistan too became a disinformation cell against HDE Gohar Shahi. Because the common public in Pakistan had been told a great bundle of lies about HDE Gohar Shahi, we ask those who oppose HDE Gohar Shahi based on hearsay to study Him and His teachings for themselves.

Can Man Become God?
27th February 2017|ArticlesLecturesVideos

Can Man Become God?

There are three monotheistic, Abrahamic religions: Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Sikhism is also a monotheistic religion – Ek Onkar (‘God is one’) is their logo found on every single Sikh temple.

The oneness of God is the main theme of every religion which was founded by a Grand Messenger. The declarations of faith of Islam, Judaism and Christianity also point towards the oneness of God.

Somehow or others, followers of Judaism managed to believe some of their Messengers were either God or Sons of God; still they practised monotheism. In Christianity, the belief that Jesus is the Son of God is the main theme, although it is also known to be a monotheistic religion.

You will find more emphasis laid on the oneness of God in Islam in comparison to Judaism and Christianity, although Judaism and Christianity are monotheistic religions and it is verified by the Koran.

Yet, some of the followers from the era of Prophet Mohammad to date [revered] some of the saints of God like they were, in fact, God.

Even in Pakistan, it became common for followers of His Divine Eminence Lord Ra Riaz Gohar Shahi to say ‘HDE Gohar Shahi is my God.’ It wasn’t a documented belief system nor was it considered to be a legitimate belief by a majority of think tanks within Anjuman Sarfaroshan-e-Islam (an organisation comprising followers of His Divine Eminence in Pakistan). However, some people continued to believe the fact that HDE Gohar Shahi is God.

On one occasion, while HDE Gohar Shahi was addressing a gathering in Pakistan, somebody stood up from the public and said, ‘I wanted to ask a question.’ HDE smiled and said, ‘Go on.’ He asked, ‘Some people in your circle say that you are God.’ How HDE replied was strange. HDE repeated the man’s words and said, ‘Are you saying some people say that I am God? Have you heard other people say, “He is a Devil”?’ The man said, ‘No.’

Then HDE explained, ‘If people say I am God, it doesn’t mean this is what I believe for myself. I never said that I am God.’

If the Divine Law says that man can be God, then we can officially adopt this practice. Since there are different types of knowledge, even in Islam, you do not know what knowledge grants you what. I have gathered from the writings of many Sufis in different books that the minimum belief a disciple must have for his Spiritual Guide is that he must consider him to be God and he must treat him likewise; otherwise, attaining spiritual grace from him is like daydreaming. This was to be adopted as an attitude, but it has never been documented.

The religious law (Sharia) is very strict in a sense that it doesn’t recognise inward faculties (Batin). Sharia will see you only as a human being; it doesn’t have any access to make an analysis of your inward faculties. Sharia is blind of spirituality, therefore no matter who you are talking about, Sharia applies one stereotype rule to all. Ask any Sharia master about calling a man God and he will say, ‘This is Shirk (appointing a partner with God).’

Ask yourself, ‘Can man be God?’ And you will say, ‘It is not possible.’

This is because we have always preserved the notion that God is almighty: he can do anything, he will not die and he doesn’t fall ill. He doesn’t need help from anybody; he doesn’t sleep or even yawn. This concept of God has been drilled into our heads [by religious scholars]. We cannot just assume a man can be God.

What caused every monotheistic religion to have this problem that some of its followers managed to call a man God? Does it simply mean these individuals who developed the notion that man can be God went astray, had lack of knowledge or purposefully became prototypes of Satan?

In Islam, I have found that Sufis who were the great preachers of the oneness of God agreed to this notion that man can be God.

They were those who were delegated by God; they had spiritual authority, backing and support from God. Still they developed this notion among their followers that man can be known as God. This boggles the mind and the question arises: how come?

We find in the Koran that God will forgive any sins but Shirk. If having a notion of man becoming God was Shirk, then why should a person [who believed man can be God] have been a Saint of God bearing divine authority and spiritual power? He should have been a sinner and have received wrathful reaction from God. [Yet this is not what happened]. Nobody has the answer to this because nobody knows the truth.

How can somebody be a Saint of God and agree to the notion that man can be God, while the Koran states God will not forgive the sin of Shirk?

It is very obvious that the physique of man has no value, therefore it cannot be God. Forget being God; your physical body cannot even be a Momin (enlightened believer). You become a Momin only when your spiritual faculties become involved in enlightenment. Your souls have the ability to absorb God’s light, [so] God can come inside your souls.

Prophet Mohammad said: ‘ The heart of a believer is the abode of God.’

Your heart can be a divine abode which means God will live there. It is amazing how God works behind the scenes. Now, there is a banner that man cannot be God; behind the banner there is a knowledge according to which God will manifest through a human being. Such a person becomes like a cinema screen.

Young children think the characters on the cinema screen [are real and present in that moment]. In a similar way, when a man thoroughly cleanses his heart and it is wonderfully polished, it shines like a mirror. Then, God manifests himself in the mirror of the spiritual heart. Those who will look at that heart shall see God; they will point towards that heart and say, ‘He is God.’

You become a spiritual container of God, an outfit of God. For example, the t-shirt and pants I am wearing are not me. I am inside this outfit, but it is housing me. In a similar way, God will come inside your heart.

A human being has not become God, however the souls inside that human beings have absorbed the presence of God.

If this is Shirk, then how come God [enters people’s hearts]? This is the issue today.

Wahhabis have been using this pretext that Sufis are heretics because they call their Spiritual Guides as God.

Let me remind you of a Tradition of Prophet Mohammad in which he said, ‘One who has seen me, he has only seen God.’

So if a disciple believes his Spiritual Guide to be God, do not jump to conclusions and do not declare him to be a heretic; because he is not saying that the body of his Spiritual Guide is God. He is referring to the presence of God in his heart.

The Kaaba (the black cubicle in Mecca) has no value in comparison to Prophet Mohammad, however in order to model the teachings of Islam, Prophet Mohammad circumambulated it [as part of pilgrimage]. He was going around that black cubicle; at one point the Prophet Mohammad stopped and looked at the Kaaba and said, ‘O’ Kaaba, I am aware of your significance. However, the significance of a Momin’s heart is a thousand times greater than you.’

Mevlana Rumi said, ‘If you have gained control of your heart, this is equivalent of performing Hajj-e-Akbar (The Great Pilgrimage).’ Such a heart which is enlightened and has God’s light in it, is greater than one thousand Kaabas.

This is not about every heart, but a heart of an enlightened believer. The Kaaba was erected by a friend of God (Abraham) whereas the heart is the passage of God.

Wahhabis are not aware of this Islam because the only form of the religion they are aware of is the ritualistic form of Islam. If Islam is an orange, than Sharia is the skin of an orange. The orange inside is Batin (the esoteric aspect). If you are only eating the skin of an orange, it will taste bitter to you; based on this, you will say, ‘Oranges are bitter.’ Oranges are not bitter – you need to peel it and eat the orange which is inside.

Now Wahhabis will say the above-mentioned Prophetic Traditions do not have enough authenticity. We know that because everything which reveals the existence of Batin lacks authenticity in the eyes of a Wahhabi Muslim.

The Wahhabi ideology is like a plague. It is full of hatred and based on loot and plunder. Their ideology is based on fanaticism and something worse than extremism. To a Wahhabi, all non-Wahhabi Muslims are considered to be polytheists. Abdul Wahhab Najadi gave them the authority [to kill non-Wahhabis, confiscate their properties and take their women as slaves].

Regarding himself, Prophet Mohammad said that he is light from God. [Maktoobaat Shareef Faarisee, Vol 3, p 191]

Wahhabis reject this saying. According to the Koran, you must have the light of God in your heart to be an enlightened believer. If the light of God doesn’t enter your heart, you are totally and explicitly misguided and misled in the eyes of God. Having light in the heart is a must to become a true devout believer. So how do they not consider Prophet Mohammad to be light? According to the Koran, God’s light is part of God. When it comes in you,  partially, God comes into your heart.

God’s light is part of God and it is a must for every common follower to believe this.

‘They are devastated and destroyed, those whose hearts have become so hard that God’s name does not enter into them. And that is an explicit misguidance.’ [Koran 39:22]

Man cannot be God, but man can have God in him.

It is a must for connection with God for you to absorb God’s light in your heart and souls. If you do not manage to do it, neither do you know God nor does God know you. You only become familiar with God once you have God’s light in your heart; there is no familiarity without it. When you have it, you have some portion of God in you because God’s light belongs to God and is part of God.

Can you separate an enlightened believer from God? It is his light in your heart that turns you into an enlightened believer. A true believer cannot be separated from God, let alone those individuals who become a divine mirror in which the disciples observe the splendour of God.

God can manifest his beauty and compassion upon any human being; he is not bound by any law.

He must manifest his beauty. For example, when you dress up nicely, don’t you want people to look at you? In a similar way, God wants to show himself off; otherwise nobody will know who God is and how handsome he is. He does manifest his beauty on a shiny mirror: an enlightened heart. An enlightened heart becomes so transparent that whoever comes in front of it will reflect in it, whether it is Prophet Mohammad or God.
