WHICH Islam Must Be Condemned

Younus AlGohar responds to radical anti-Muslims on Twitter and explains the truth about Islam and how it has been distorted today.

Main points:

–  Every religion has a time limit on it, an expiry date. When a certain religion expires, what is happening today under the banner of Islam is exactly what happens. Some people just want to denounce Islam and some other people keep on saying terrorism has nothing to do with Islam. Both are wrong: Islam when it was founded by Prophet Mohammad was not the same Islam as we see today.

–  If a religion is not making you holy, that religion is not holy anymore. Today the problems we have in the world are because of these religions after they expired. When religions were founded and the spiritual systems were intact, they were helping people out and responsible for reviving human values in human beings. However, now these religions are bringing the worst out of everybody.

– There was a time when Judaism was the truth. Then there was a time when Christianity was the truth. There was a time when Islam was the truth. When truth separated itself from the religions, these religions became monstrous. We defend the original Islam which did not mean any harm to anybody.  We condemn the Islam practised by Wahhabis and ISIS.

– To collect the Quran in the form of a book was never in God’s or Prophet Mohammad’s plan. Therefore many verses in the Quran we have today have already been abrogated by God. The original Quran was revealed onto the heart of Prophet Mohammad; therefore only Prophet Mohammad, the recipient of the Quran, would be notified of any changes. It would not be made public knowledge necessarily. There are two Quran: the Esoteric Quran and the Exoteric Quran. Esoteric Quran has everything to do with God and Prophet Mohammad. This Exoteric Quran has nothing to do with either Prophet Mohammad or God.

– The apocalyptic forecast of Prophet Mohammad regarding the end times has been heavily modified by Wahhabis. The concept of Imam Mehdi has been modified and they have begotten a new theory of hatred. They have given an unreal, false story of the worldwide caliph who will supposedly rule the entire world and turn everybody into Muslims.

A Viewer’s Response to Younus AlGohar’s Lecture on Sufism vs Wahhabism

A Viewer’s Response to Younus AlGohar’s Lecture on Sufism vs Wahhabism

In response to Younus AlGohar’s comparison of Sufi Islam vs Wahhabi Islam, YouTube user Larryprint had this to say:

‘We need more guys like you in Germany. Salafist try to indoctrinate so many young Muslims with their YouTube videos and “read projects” here. They [proclaim] their Wahabism/Salafism as the only true [Islamic] religion.

‘I think the spiritual Sufi Islam is compatible with Christianity, human rights, philosophy and democracy but the radical Sunni Islam and the Salafism and Wahabism seem to be much more a political weapon.’

Turbulent History of Islam
17th August 2016|ArticlesLecturesVideos

Turbulent History of Islam

We are living in a corrupt world, where almost everybody is corrupt. If you’re a common man, then your corruption is on a very low level; if you’re a politician, your corruption level is higher than a common man. If you are a religious celebrity, then your corruption level is higher than the politician. So this is a strange world where everybody is busy looting and plundering, making any excuse to suppress and defile others. Some people use politics and some others use religions to do this. When we speak about the entire world, we actually mean the majority of people are corrupt. Of course there are exceptions, but these exceptions are so negligible in number that their presence or absence will make no difference.

Islam is a religion which was born some 15 centuries ago and Islam has a very turbulent history. If you read history of Islam, you’ll come to know that from the very beginning, Islam has been made subject to a lot of killing. There have been a lot of people who posed to be pure Muslim leaders, but they were not after purity; they were after power, money and lust.

Most Muslims do not get tired of defending Islam. They say that it has nothing to do with any mischief or trouble.

Most of the time, I also defend Islam; but when I do, I’m defending the esoteric aspect of the religion: the Sufi Islam. The political Islam has always been turbulent right from its beginning.

Out of four of the most popular and immediate successors of Prophet Muhammad, three of them were assassinated. The first one, Abu Bakr Siddiq, was the caliph for two years; he was already old, [so he died of natural causes]. Then Umar Bin Khattab, Usman-e-Ghani and then Hazrat Ali: all three of them were killed. Then we have a very sad event that took place in Karbala. All the men in Prophet Mohammad’s household, for except Imam Hussain ul-Abidin, were killed in Karbala.

There is something. I thought a lot about it and asked, ‘What is wrong with Islam?’ It is not just today that they’re killing people. Those who know Islamic history will not be offended by what I’m saying, because they must know what Islam has been going through since its birth. Firstly, since Islam’s birth, it has been going through a lot of turmoil, misunderstandings and killing. Secondly, Islam has been through a phenomenal crisis of [not] observing respect for the elders in Islam or non-Muslim human beings. Respect is one aspect that Muslims have not observed as a whole. Sufis do observe respect, but most non-Sufi Muslims have this problem: they’re very aggressive, violent and short-sighted.

I thought a lot about why Islam has been subjected to so much killing since its birth. I ask Muslims to accept and admit the truth; there is no harm in doing so. The irony is, those who killed the household of Prophet Mohammad were Muslims. Those who killed their second, third and fourth caliphs were Muslims.

There was a Companion of the Prophet by the name of Abu Huraira. ‘Huraira’ is an Arabic word for cats and ‘Abu’ means ‘Father,’ so ‘Father of the Cats’ was his nickname. He spent a lot time with Prophet Mohammad and used to share the knowledge he obtained in company of Prophet Mohammad with people. According to narrations from the Traditions of the Prophet, we find that he was reluctant to reveal all types of knowledge that he obtained from the Prophet. He clearly said, ‘I have told you just one type of knowledge that I obtained from the Prophet. If I told you the other type of knowledge I obtained from the Prophet, you would kill me.’ So beheading, killing, chopping hands and legs off was the normal pattern of that society; otherwise he would have said, ‘You would punish me,’ or ‘You would beat me.’ However, people in that society never used these words; they only said, ‘I’ll kill you.’

When somebody does anything wrong, you don’t get angry straight away. It builds up. They do one thing wrong and you don’t like it, so you tell them, ‘Don’t do this again.’ When they do it again, you feel frustrated; then you tell them with some more authority, ‘I told you not to do it and you’re still doing it. Don’t do it again!’ If that person doesn’t listen to you and he does it again for the third time, maybe then you will show anger.

The Muslims from the Arab world, where Islam was born, consider themselves to be the only real Muslims. They think Muslims who come from places like India, Pakistan or Bangladesh are ‘fake’ Muslims.

Aggression and extremism is in the nature of [Arabs].

From this part of the ‘real’ Islamic world, for the first time if you do something wrong, they show anger with so much intensity like they have been warning you not to do it for the last 150 years.

Another thing was that people in that part of the world did have but very little intelligence. The Quran said 49:4 said so.

People must understand that a Muslim from the Arab world behaves differently from a Muslim that comes from [Indian] subcontinent. Their behaviour and temperament is different. People from subcontinent will take everything easily; they’re more into forgiving others rather than chopping their heads off. On contrary to this, the ‘real’ custodians of Islam they will not give you margin of error.

Now the question that I had in my mind is, ‘Why has Islam always been turbulent? It’s a bloody history. What is wrong with Islam?’

Not much wrong is with Islam. More wrong is with the people for whom Islam was founded.

[Killing] was in their nature. They used to kill each other on tiny issues like, ‘Why did your cow drink water from my stream?’ If you were to look at them, they would say, ‘Why are you staring at me?’ They will think that they have been humiliated and insulted, therefore [you] have no right to live. This is extremism.

If you are a common person dealing with peaceful and calm people, you yourself will feel relaxed. However, if you’re dealing with aggressive and really outspoken – almost rude – people, you will feel invited to behave the same way that they are behaving with you. Perhaps when God was sending them the religion of Islam, God was aware of their temperament and God had to keep up his standard with them. If God didn’t introduce severe punishments, they would take the Quran and Islam as a joke.

They would not believe in God’s power and authority if God was all merciful.

If I play cricket and you also play cricket, there will be an abstract, invisible bond because we share the same sport. Similarly, if God did not show anger, since they’re such angry people, they would not take it from God.

God became a little aggressive in the Quran because he was dealing with aggressive people.

In one of the Traditions of the Prophet Mohammad, he said, ‘When you’re dealing with arrogant people, deal with them with arrogance. If you don’t, then don’t blame others.’

Muslims who are from other parts of the world are not as aggressive as the ‘real’ Muslims are; they are not into fighting and killing. However people of the Arabian peninsula were historically warriors. The royal family of Saudi Arabia were pirates; they used to sell water.

In Pakistan, about 30-35 years ago, every time Eid would come, we would go to a tailor, he would measure our body and then he would stitch our suits. Now, we buy suits from Marks and Spencer’s, Macy’s, etc. However, in those times, it had to be tailor-made.

In a similar way, a religion is always tailor-made. When God customises a religion, this customisation is in accordance with the temperament and attributes of the nation that the religion is about to be introduced to.

Therefore, the religion of Islam is not suitable for non-Arabs.

Now, a major crime is being committed against the Quran: contextualised verses of the Quran are being made universalised.

There are verses that have a context, without which you can’t interpret them. If you are universalising such verses and applying them to everybody in this world, this is a crime against the Quran.

I have talked about it many times.

For example, if you ask your romantic partner to [take off their clothes] in the bedroom, then it is okay because you’re [in private]. If someone tells people your words and does not mention that it was said in the bedroom, it is a crime. Similarly, when the Quran said, ‘Go kill non-Muslims,’ this was said on the battlefield there and then, not for today. It was revealed for that moment in time.

Muslims – The Principal Victims Of Wahhabism
12th August 2016|ArticlesLecturesVideos

Muslims – The Principal Victims Of Wahhabism

We have mentioned the discriminatory, racial, irreligious and lunatic belief system which is prompted by the Wahhabi ideology. However, we did not discuss on this elevated level why non-Wahhabi Muslims cannot get along with Wahhabis. Why is there a fierce enmity, animosity and never ending grudge between mainstream Sufi Muslims and Wahhabis?

The majority of victims of Wahhabis are from within Islam. The majority of people that have been victimised, targeted and slaughtered are none other than the mainstream non-Wahhabi Muslims.

[I am explaining the] reasons why a mainstream Muslim cannot get along with Wahhabis.

What Wahhabis believe is more an emotional crisis for non-Wahhabi Muslims than a religious problem. What they believe is ultra-provocative to any Muslim who truly believes in Islam.

A true devout Muslim will suffer from an emotional setback and instantly, they will become enraged – for this is how inciting and provocative the tenets of the Wahhabi ideology are. Not many people who have taken on the task of making mainstream Muslims aware of the potential jeopardy of the widespread Wahhabi ideology talk about these things that I am going to talk about today.

The world must come to know how ugly a mentality a Wahhabi has and how irrational, insane, illogical, disrespectful, defiling and derogatory a Wahhabi Muslim is towards the founder of Islam, Prophet Mohammad. They have more than just double standards.

The world must know why a Sufi Muslim is so hateful in the eyes of a Wahhabi follower.

The amount of hatred that a Wahhabi has in his heart for Sufis is not because they might have done anything wrong; rather it is because Sufis exhibit love for the Prophet Mohammad. Wahhabis cannot tolerate anybody praising or showing love for Prophet Mohammad.

Most Wahhabis are from the Arab world. Their problem is that they are only aware of ego; they cannot respect anybody. When Prophet Mohammad came to their land, their brains couldn’t digest the heightened elevation of the spiritual status of Prophet Mohammad. They failed to grasp the amount of eminence given to Prophet Mohammad by his lord, his God.

On the other hand, God rather than guiding people, was playing a game of chess. He said to them what they wanted to hear from God. He told Prophet Mohammad to tell the Arabs, ‘I am a man like you.’ [Quran 41:6]

Their problem was [and is] that they cannot respect anybody other than themselves. This is a genetic problem; they can’t get rid of it.

Pakistani and Indian Muslims have lived in a Hindu society where people revere anyone easily, so they have learnt to give more respect. If anybody does anything good, a Hindu might say, ‘He is like my God.’ Regarding their mother, a Hindu may say, ‘What my mother has done for me, even God might not have done it. So for me, my mother is my God.’ This is their style of giving respect.

We lived in that society where showing respect was the fundamental approach towards religions.

As a result, when people from that society became Muslims, they started to give respect to the Quran. About 25 years ago when I was in Pakistan, people used to decorate the Quran with a velvet cover and keep it in the highest point in the house.

I can’t imagine the intensity of respect that would have been generated if God had sent Prophet Mohammad in either Sheikhupura or Gujranwala, or if he had been buried in Gujranwala or Faisalabad.

It is not mentioned in any of the Prophetic Traditions that you must decorate the Quran with a red velvet cover, that you must kiss it every time you see it or that you must keep it in the higher point of the house. This has come from the society we lived in, which was predominantly following the Hindu religion. They give a lot of respect to everything in their religion.

In Pakistan, we were discouraged from talking to our friends in mosque. We were told, ‘This is the House of God. Go outside if you want to talk. The mosque is for the prayers only.’ In Kaaba, the most sacred Muslim place, Saudi, Emirati and Kuwaiti men and women go for dating.

If a cleric in Pakistan was a Barelvi, they made sure that when they spoke about Prophet Mohammad, they would not leave any stone unturned in elevating his status. They said anything about not just Prophet Mohammad, but also the Companions of Prophet Mohammad. They gave us the impression that these people were holy human beings that never sinned or made a mistake. When we read the Quran, we cried because what we heard was a bundle of lies.

Every time we heard about their life and read their stories, I personally would condemn myself. I thought, ‘How can I not do what Usman-e-Ghani, Ali, Umar bin Khattab did?’ We were always fighting with ourselves, condemning ourselves and we were living under a severe form of guilt. We thought, ‘We are really bad Muslims. We can’t do anything.’

The clerics would say,  You want to do like what Umar bin Khattab did? What is your value and worth? You’re trying to compete with such holy people as Umar bin Khattab?’

They would say, ‘Ali was born in Kaaba. You were born in Karachi.’

I am telling the truth. I am only verbalising my emotions.

If you go to the birthplace of Islam, do not forget to take with you a microscope, because you will need to find Islam. You will not see it clearly with the naked eye. Islam is not to be seen anywhere.

All these years as a Muslim, before I was blessed to see Lord Ra Riaz Gohar Shahi, I only suffered. There are many problems to discuss, but these are a few of the points.

When you hear stories of dignitaries in Islam, you find it inspirational and you want to be like them. But when you ask clerics, ‘I want to be like Ali,’ they say, ‘This is Kufr (rejection of the truth).’ They want us to idealise the Companions of the Prophet and when we do, they tell us that it is Kufr. What kind of religion is this? When there is a football world cup going on, people start playing football because they find it a source of inspiration. When there is a cricket world cup going on, there is a glamour to it and people start playing cricket.

Similarly, when I would visit a shrine of a saint or a Sufi, I would be thinking, ‘I want to be like him. I want to be close to God the way he was.’ Every time I told somebody I wanted to be like Sufis such as Abdullah Shah Ghazi, they scorned me.

Today I say, ‘Islam does not exist anymore,’ but Islam has not been here for the last 400 years.

The Wahhabi ideology is not new; it is coming from the Arabian peninsula. At the time of Prophet Mohammad, there were some Muslims whose ego would not allow them to show respect to him. They would not leave any stone unturned in defiling, degrading and derogating Prophet Mohammad. Sometimes, they would criticise Prophet Mohammad for not being just. Some other times, they would criticise him for not being punctual in Salat (prayers).

Their problem was: they were from different tribes and since the birth of Islam, they lost their value. They used to be leaders of their tribes, people would come to them and respect them. Their ego was hurt when Islam was founded by Prophet Mohammad. They didn’t have anyone to respect them; all the respect would go to Prophet Mohammad. Those whose hearts were revived, enlightened and they became Momineen (true believers), they embraced Prophet Mohammad’s eminence and started to respect him.

Otherwise, in their culture, people would just scream at the top of their voice. Read Surah-e-Hujrat: they would come outside the Prophet Mohammad’s house, and they would yell, ‘Ya Mohammadah!’ God said to them, ‘Show some respect.’

Prophet Mohammad would be talking to somebody and they wouldn’t care; they would continuing screaming, showing no respect to the presence of the Prophet. In that situation, people would find it really difficult to understand what Prophet Mohammad was telling them.

This is why the Quran 49:2 said, ‘O’ Momineen, do not raise your voice over the voice of Prophet Mohammad. Do not speak to him the way you speak to each other. If you continue to do this, all your deeds, prayer and faith will be wasted. You will not even notice that you have lost your faith.’

So there were people at the time of Prophet Mohammad who had an ego problem. It was for this reason that these people built a mosque for themselves. They said, ‘Islam has come. We know what Islam is and the Quran has been revealed. We don’t have to go to this mosque where Mohammad is. More important is Islam, not Mohammad.’ They built a mosque for themselves because they could not respect Prophet Mohammad. However when they built the mosque, God said, ‘Demolish this mosque.’

When the mosque was demolished, these Muslims who didn’t want to bow before Prophet Mohammad or respect him, they started to offer prayers in their homes. When Prophet Mohammad found out, he said, ‘The mosque was demolished. Why don’t they come here now?’ Somebody said, ‘Now they offer prayers in their homes.’ Prophet Mohammad then said, ‘I just care for their children and wives, otherwise I would have set their houses on fire.’

They totally negated Prophet Mohammad from Islam. Their Islam is minus Mohammad. Their slogan was, ‘God’s land, God’s law. There should be no middle man.’ They are known as Khwarijeen.

They were quiet when Abu Bakr Sadiq was the caliph; they only created a few problems with giving Zakat (religious tax). When Umar bin Khattab became the caliph, they were quiet. When Usman-e-Ghani came, they killed him. When Ali became the caliph, there was a big mischief. There were 10 000 of them and he killed 5000. The other 5000 apparently repented, just to save themselves. What could Ali do then? He was bound by the law not to do anything, therefore 5000 were left.

Look at the tenets of the Wahhabi ideology. They say, ‘The only difference between a common man and Mohammad is that Mohammad was granted Wahi. He is like a postman. Those who kiss their thumbnails to show respect for Prophet Mohammad are actually committing Shirk (appointing a partner with God).’ Then they say, ‘These individuals by the name of Mohammad and Ali have no value.’

They also say, ‘There is no intermediary between a man and God.’ They totally reject the authenticity of mediumship. They want to be in contact with God directly. They say, ‘We don’t need any medium.’

However, contrary to their belief system, let’s see what the Quran says.

‘Oh Momineen, become pure. In order to find God, look for an intermediary.’ [Quran 5:35]

In total disagreement with Quran, is the Wahhabi ideology.

Wahhabis say, ‘There is no esoteric knowledge (batini talim). There is only exoteric knowledge (zahiri talim). There is no such thing as the esoteric realm (batin).’

Quran said about God, ‘God is in the exoteric realm and esoteric realm.’ [Quran 57:3]

I request peaceful Muslims to study the Quran well in order to understand the original form of Islam. Do not confine yourself to listening to a religious cleric only.

You are responsible for what belief system you want to practise. If you pick up a wrong belief system within Islam, you are responsible for this on the Day of Judgement.

No matter how many poor excuses you try to find on the Day of Judgement, you are not going to satisfy God. You are solely responsible to pick up the rightly guided belief system. You won’t be able to say, ‘I was told in this mosque that I should do this.’ God would say, ‘Where was the Quran? Did you read it, did you try to understand it?’ You might reply, ‘No, but these were the representatives of Quran and Islam.’ God would then say, ‘Really? Were they endorsed by me? They were homegrown clerics who spent their lives having intercourse with young boys. How would they know of God and the Quran?’ Religious clerics [today] are the worst people under the sky, on Earth; worse than a wolf.

Salat is a Muslim prayer. What happens in Salat is that you recite verses of the Quran; in the last portion of Salat, you sit crossed-legged. You are supposed to send benedictions upon Prophet Mohammad and upon Prophet Abraham and his progeny. When you send benedictions upon Prophet Mohammad, you would definitely think of him. It is impossible that you talk about somebody and you won’t think about him.

However, the Wahhabi ideology projects that whoever thinks about Prophet Mohammad in Salat, his Salat is ruined. They say, ‘You are better off thinking about a donkey rather than Prophet Mohammad.’

When you say such things about Prophet Mohammad, who is revered by a devout Muslim, you are actually defiling their prophet; you are actually hurting their feelings and emotions. How can a Sufi Muslim have any respect for the Wahhabi ideology? Why would a Sufi Muslim not oppose the Wahhabi ideology?

We have been targeted by Wahhabis in Pakistan. We have been facing persecution at the hands of Wahhabis in Pakistan. 65 members of Messiah Foundation International, back in 2007, had to flee their country; they took refuge in India. With the help of the United Nations, United States of America and Canada offered them asylum. These individuals are now living peacefully in Canada, and in the United States of America. They are exercising free speech. They are allowed to practise what they believe. There is no hindrance either in Canada or United States of America because there is religious freedom. There is no religious freedom in Muslim countries.

Prophet Mohammad clearly said, ‘Do not demolish any church, temple, synagogue – any of the worship place of any non-Muslim.’

ISIS have demolished half the historic places in Syria. What they are doing is nowhere near Islam; it is in total opposition to what Prophet Mohammad has projected 1436 years ago.

I would like the entire world to come to know of the reality: what you call Muslims are not Muslims. They are hateful creatures. They are loyal to none. When they face God, I bet they would definitely find it difficult to even respect God. Their ego would not allow them to bow before God.

Is Contemporary Islam In Need of Reformation?
6th August 2016|LecturesVideos

Is Contemporary Islam In Need of Reformation?

Younus AlGohar discusses the menace of unholy Islam and explains the divinely ordained system of reforms that has existed in Islam.

Main points:

– The entire world thinks that ISIS is organising all these atrocities, but that is doubtful. This debate fiercer is getting day by day. People are not just blaming ISIS. They’re blaming Islam and the Quran. What is happening today is happening because of the unholy Islam, Wahhabism. Islamophobia is natural when Wahhabism is so widespread.

– We have discussed recently how sensitive it is to study the Quran without first obtaining mortification of your inner devil, enlightenment of the heart. The understanding of the religion and of the holy book, does not come from your common human intelligence. It comes from God. There are many verses in the Quran which are so sensitive, that if an appointed person by God does not explain or interpret those verses, there is a very high possibility that you will mislead yourself. Do not attempt to take any meaning of the Quran on your own.

– According to the Islamic faith, after 1000 years, a Grand Reformer has to come and take care of anything which have been added to the faith and understanding, or anything which might have been adulterated. They come to renew and reform Islam. The belief that the purest Islam is that which existed at the time of Prophet Mohammad is against the Islamic faith. Islam needed reforms every 100 years, and reform on a grander scale ever 1000 years. There are so may verses in the Quran that do not apply to people of this day and age.

– Many people will say that Islam needs reforms. However there are so many areas in which Islam needs reforms, that if you start reforming Islam, you’ll get tired and Islam will not be completely reformed. This is because Islam is dead; Islam is no more. The mischief within Islam has killed it. Islam is a religion which had to come to an end somehow or other. Prophet Mohammad said, ‘Nothing will remain in Islam for except its name.’

Does Islam Promote Terrorism?

Does Islam Promote Terrorism?

Does Islam Promote Terrorism?

Islamist militant organisations all over the world are carrying out organised butchery of humankind. Islam does not directly have anything to do with this killing and brutal atrocities. However, if you investigate, you will find out that in the Holy Book of the Quran, the text from God is very sensitive and it is open to any kind of misinterpretation.

It is very easy to derive the meaning that you want to derive. The text of the Holy Quran is very sensitive. It is sharper than the sword. This is where you can blame Islam.

Islam does not directly project mass killings or killing of an individual. On many occasions in the Quran, we find the Quran explicitly advising its followers not to spread mischief on Earth. It is also clearly noted that God does not like people who create or spread mischief.

However, there are many factors involved in Islam becoming what it is today.

Adulteration of the Quran

One of the main reasons why Islam has now become a very volatile religion is because the first book that contained information about the religion came out in public almost 150 years after the demise of the Prophet Mohammad.

In those 150 years, it is unknown what was included in the religion of Islam, and what was made part of the Quran. We do not know how many of the Prophetic Traditions that were narrated, were done so genuinely with the original text.

Nothing was on the record for 150 years.

Almost all Muslims maintain to say that the Quran has not been adulterated. The verse famously presented by Muslims as evidence for this assertion was revealed when God and Prophet Mohammad did not have any plan of giving the Quran the shape of a book. It does not apply to [the physical Quran].

God said, ‘I have revealed this Quran and I myself will safeguard it.’ (Quran chapter 15, verse 9)

The Quran which is now in the form of a book did not exist at all during that time. How can that verse be applied to this form of the Quran?

What God was implying to say by that verse was to safeguard the exoteric version of the Holy Book revealed unto the heart of Prophet Mohammad. The protection was that, from the heart of the Prophet, it would be transmitted to the hearts of his chosen followers.

This is how through spiritual transmission of the Quran, the religion of Islam expanded in the form of Sufism.

Whoever tried to find out what Islam is through the help of books including the Quran, somehow or other, they did not get the full picture of Islam. The most important parts of the religion were missing.

The way the Quran was put into order was not chronological.

The first verse that was revealed is found not at the beginning of the Quran, but in chapter 96, verse 1. We have to admit that a gross mistake was committed by the early Companions of the Prophet who tried to give a form of the book to the Quran. They did not manage to keep the order of the verses in the same way as it was revealed. They even named the chapters incorrectly. This Quran is not trustworthy.

If the Quran had been trustworthy, how come all Muslims claim to follow the Quran but are divided into 73 different schools of thought? The problem is, every single Muslim has developed this thought that the Quran is still in its original form. They don’t want to accept that anything can happen to the Quran.

If you ask some Muslims, ‘Christians and Jews are also People of the Book. Why don’t you extend love and respect to these people?’ They say, ‘Their books have been adulterated. They are not the true Christians and Jews, that is why we don’t respect them.’ At the same time, if the Quran is from God, then the Bible and Torah are also from God. When Quran cannot be adulterated, then why do they say that the Bible has been adulterated? The truth is that all three books — the Torah, Bible and the Quran — have been adulterated.

Different Understandings of the Quran

The way people understand the Quran differs. When a Sufi understands the Quran, he does not see any form of violence in the Quran. When a Barelvi Sunni Muslim wants to understand the Quran, he thinks that the Quran is all praise for Prophet Mohammad.

When a Wahhabi wants to understand the Quran, he thinks the Quran is all about Oneness of God (Tauheed). He understands that extending love to Prophet Mohammad is not allowed according to the Quran. He thinks Prophet Mohammad has no value other than that of a postman, somebody who was chosen by God to deliver the book to people.

Even if the Quran hadn’t been adulterated, the way one understands the Quran is playing a very sensitive role in a Muslim’s life today.

When a moderate Muslim wants to understand the Quran, his findings are different. According to a moderate Muslim, even if somebody doesn’t visit the mosque five times a day, it is acceptable. Even if someone doesn’t adopt an ‘Islamic style’ of dressing, it doesn’t really matter. What matters to them according to their understanding of the Quran is that as long as someone believes in God, accepts Prophet Mohammad to be their prophet and messenger, and as long as they take care of their parents, sons and daughters, that is enough.

The understanding of the Quran is the main issue, but there are many factors, which combined, are playing havoc with Islam today.

Inauthenticity of Prophetic Traditions

More than 300 000 Prophetic Traditions have been fabricated and mixed with the original ones. Now we do not know which are true and which ones are fabricated.

There are Prophetic Traditions according to which Umar bin Khattab (the second caliph in Islam) allegedly used to break his fast by having intercourse with his wife.

In another Prophetic Tradition, somebody came to the wife of Prophet Mohammad, Aisha, and asked her, ‘What is Ghusl?’ Allegedly again, she put a sheer white sheet between her and the man and then she started taking a shower in front of him. I don’t believe that is true. There are so many Prophetic Traditions that if you read, you will ask yourself, ‘What kind of Islam is this?’

The Motivation for Terrorists

The reason why these terrorist organisations are on the rampage is because they have one thing in their mind. They think that towards the end times, a caliph will come and turn everybody into Muslims. Those who do not convert, he will kill them and Islam will rule the world.

These are the apocalyptic pages of Islam, but I want to tell you that what terrorists project about the end times is not entirely true. These are made up stories. There is no such thing as a caliph coming towards the end of the world.

I say this to the world leaders: bear this in your mind. It is incorrect to say that this is temporary or a geopolitical issue, or that this is because they were suffering from poverty or lack of education.

The only reason behind this is that they have a plan: the return of the Islamic Golden Age.

ISIS, Taliban Boko Haram, Al-Shahbab or any other terrorist-affiliated organisation all have one thing in their mind: that they will eventually rule the world. They think the entire world will become subject to Islamic caliphate. If you know what is the target of your enemy, only then you can make a workable plan.

There is one true issue behind it: wrong interpretation of the holy text.
